and that's different from what usually happens how? i've only seen scum caught out on the first day once (i might not have huge experience, but i've seen plenty of games), and he was a complete noob. i thought rather than wadding through 10 pages of people claiming to random vote, but really voting for whoever they don't like from previous games, i'd take the more fun way and try out a new feature. ah well, as always anything anyone says or does on day 1 looks scummy and gets you the finger
the people who get lynched on day 1 are normally idiots that screw the game up anyway and pro-town or not it is often good to see the back of them. With this random vote concept anyone could go including the most experienced players and instead we would get left with noob deadbeaters plus no proper information to go on as it would just be a lottery.
Skittles! wrote:But fool is an actual role, and how would a jester know that?
Because he is told. In a PM. With his role.
Fool and Jester are different. Jester wins by getting lynched, right?
Fool(s) need to lynch someone as their first post every day.
no fool means i can only vote for completely random reasons
If derfderf is a Fool and can only vote for completely random reasons than he's of no use to us. His role, if he didn't roleclaim and played it well, would have disrupted the game. Why he roleclaimed is strange, and I'd like to hear his answer. Either way, thanks for roleclaiming derf. Now we know we can ignore you and not waste a lynch.

gimpyThewonder, do you have a reply to this?
didn't know i was supposed to...
but i stand by what i said. I just reallllly don't enjoy day one, its rare that a useful clue is dropped and it really only seems to serve people's personal grudges and enmity towards certain other players (waranted or not) in getting them out of the game. I think sometimes people forget that its all just a game, and that really we are all just kids at heart (regardless of age), why else would we be playing a game but to have fun? sure some players are annoying as heck, but perhaps one day they will grow up a little and be as stuffy as some of the other players. is that what you wanted as a reply? I like the idea of random gamewide rather than random among the less experienced or annoying. I'm an equal-opportunity lyncher. end-mild-rant

Let me add my two cents...
The random vote is an interesting feature. I'm personally not going to use it. Say we all get together and just vote 'random'. When we get a lynch, whether pro- or ant- Gotham, what will we have learned? We all voted, but no-one VOTED for the guy who's been lynched. And why not just vote 'random' the whole game? The mafia will continue to kill who they want during the night, and all of us choosing the 'random' option will learn nothing. When we force a vote on day one, we have a record of who voted for who. This record becomes valuable the longer the game goes on. Voting 'random' therefore makes you look scummy, in my opinion. If you want to vote that way, fine, go ahead. As for me, I won't. (now were I scum, I might feel differently )
I agree with Serbia's statement that using the random vote seems like a tool the mafia would use in order to have an easy lynch. Since they are the far minority, the odds of it getting voted for one of them is smaller than the odds one of them will slip up.
vote cmckinney because that cat is obiously very evil
???????????
Oh yes, I am obviously evil, simply because, as fircoal can vouch for, i tend to push for a quick vote for people who will do nothing to help or even harm our mission to weed out the mafia. WTH!
MountainLion wrote:gimpy, I agree with your reasoning, but Serbia said exactly why I wouldn't vote random either.
IGMEOY gimpy
Vote Skoffin. you posted once...do you have any more to add?
I haven't slept in two days, give me a break =P I don't really have much to add at this point, lack of sleep and lack of evidence to go on.
Skittles! wrote:Is DerfDerf meant to be in an Insane Ayslum or does he just want to be lynched?
Or it could just be a very strange but clever way to keep from being lynched for most the game? Afterall, he already has half the players decided to ignore him.
