Keep in mind that the main reason world 2.1 is in second place is because it's a huge map so games last longer on there. Lets not have all the map makers trying to make more massive maps just because of world 2.1's "success"

no that is not the main reason why world 2.1 is number 2.

i agree. the size and the fact that games last longer certainly contributes but the main reason is that the map is just like classic. people relate to it better than to a crosswords map.

Nah the logic is sound. Lets say on any given day, 100 games are made for world 2.1 and another 100 are made for map X which only has 42 countries. Now you check back in a month and although the same number of games have been made between the 2 maps, there are more "active" world 2.1 games simply due to the fact that it is a much larger map.
I'll agree it may not be the "main" reason, but it is a factor.

maniacMATH but your argued is flawed still....This would give map x more chance to be played on....
I for one alove World 2.1 and for me is the best map out there but dont play on it coz it takes too long..... So world 2.1 has lost a player and map x gained 1...
Theres alot of if's and buts and i believe people prefer classic and world 2.1 coz they play well

I don't believe most people think this way. Most people have a certain number of active games, and start new ones as old ones finish up. If 2.1 takes longer, people don't "double up" their 2.1 games, they wait longer before starting more. That doesn't mean it's less popular, just that it runs on a longer cycle.
Also, in my experience World 2.1 does not take significantly longer in team games, it's only singles games that drag on.

the thing is i have played about 5 or 6 circus maximus 1 vs 1's and they have been so quick they would not be registered on here, whereas 1 v 1's on huge maps could well be counted.

*i have not included the recent 3 quenched maps because they were released 1 hour ago and have just a few games do placing them last would not be fair.
