Correction to the title: The United States has left Chicago. I live here, and I can say that a lot COULD be done to help the issue, but the help that is available has become political. Different medical, educational, and food assistance has become tied up in the bipartisan politics that our nation is trudging in, so that deepens the issue. If you are raised in a place where violence, drugs, gangs, and crime are all you know, and you have no decent education but are 18 and need to survive, what else are you going to do? Starve, or continue the cycle of crime?

I actually wasnt being sarcastic, an american bomb built by lockheed martin was used to kill 40 children on a school bus a couple days ago.
I dont think people being killed is anything to joke about.

I do have to say the revised number of killed children is 40, at the time I posted the number was 50 so I said 1 american bomb kills more children than the people shot in chicago during the same time.
Its just perspective fox.

The shame is on the states, not myself for mentioning it in a thread talking of people being killed.

Just off the top of my head - ending the drug war, and federal legislation to do something about the illegal gun trade that renders Chicago's gun ban effectively moot.
