Being a bully shows insecurity. Usually a bully feels shity about themselves. In order to make themselves feel better they will pick on people. Usually the elderly or the weak.. Or people that will not retaliate.

It was a naked assertion, not an argument really. And a lighthearted one at that.

Thankfully, atheists don't have the problem of having to defend anything. Just mock people who actually DO believe something. Right? Good times.
Atheists tend to have better things to do than sit around and mock others. All the fun stuff, for example. I am rather jealous.
In my experience, it's the faithful who look down their noses at other faithful folks.
Faithful folks can at least discuss what they believe.

I guess if I were an atheist, I probably mock people just to make myself feel better.

So... you assume atheists mock Christians cos they, what, feel bad about being atheists? You make less sense as this thread progresses.

They mock people because that's all they have. Kind of sad really.

I sometimes mock Christians. But most of the time I actually feel genuine compassion. Unfortunately, the people who sell religions are masters of misleading the gullible. They've spent a lifetime perfecting their craft, and most of the victims are recruited while they are young and impressionable and haven't learned self-defense against chicanery.

Atheism is often considered an anti-religion. It rarely is, even though it can be. It's probably wise to talk to people first, before you dismiss them.

Unless atheists can explain how matter can become conscious it's nothing more than faith. The same thing religion is. Faith in something without absolute proof.. we all know this conversation is a rabbit hole.

Honestly, I've never felt the need to explain it. It's just not part of my life. Where I go after I die will be the same place I existed before I lived. I do know that I'll have offended a lot of people's ideas of gods though.

That's the beauty of atheism. They don't have to explain anything. Ever.

That's why Atheism truly is for the weak. They don't have to defend or explain anything. They simply mock those who do believe something. They have yet to realize that mocking people or beliefs isn't a valid argument for anything.

More than a tad.

Maybe BB can provide a valid argument to convince atheists to believe.

Implying Christianity was ever a valid argument for anything itself? Har

BB, why did you start this thread? Were you looking for information or were you looking for a fight? If you were looking for a fight, you will find one. I can't imagine why a Christian would go out looking for a fight though. I understand the tribalistic impulse, but perhaps you should spend some time in the proverbs and re-evaluate your motives.

This is for those who are really interested in the argument. One of the better debates I have seen in awhile. It's long but it's a good one.
