That was before the rule change. I think the 4 word rule applies and not this one.

That's the key, informal...

Plus the use of 'silly' as a noun is a colloquialism, thus the pluralized use of such is the same.

There has to be a baseline for accepted usage. Otherwise we're going to have this same argument when someone has "pimpin" or "theatre" or "fantods" or any of the other innumerable neologisms/contractions/slang/alternate-spellings/etc that English on both sides of the Pond is regrettably prone to.

And yes, I left my participle dangling...

Look, I'll bow to Aimless when he weighs in, he started the game. But I'm telling you, this is going to be more of an issue down the road, and we need to figure out some sort of mechanism for dispute that doesn't take three days to sort out.

"Sillies" is not a word.

In order for this to work, I think we have to consider only formal English words, which means no slangs, colloquialisms, medical terms or other jargon, etc., unless they have become a part of formal English through continuous usage.
