VALLERIAN WAS GREAT! And once I even asked betiko about it and he didn't know what I was talking about!!!KoolBak wrote:Dude. Valeria is really the only choice. Hated snowblower. 1 hunger games was enough for all time.
I only heard of the second one and it looked too much like Tron!!!KoolBak wrote:Did you like Jupiter Ascending? Ready Player One? Infinity Wars?

Oh I totally forgot about Train to Busan. That was good. IDK if it counts as sci fi or not. If Symmetry says it does I'll add it to my list, but it won't replace Snowpiercer.DoomYoshi wrote:Do you count zombie movies as scifi? If you do, Train to Busan beats Snowpiercer.

Not seen that one, but it's on my list. Glad you watched Snowpiercer. That movie ticks a lot of boxes for me- clever idea, great cast, tiny bit nuts, great action, fun watch.saxitoxin wrote:Oh I totally forgot about Train to Busan. That was good. Temporarily I won't count Train to Busan as Sci-Fi, but again I haven't seen it yet. It looks like a pure zombie movie, which I used to class as just horror, but I now think is it's own class of movie.
I may have over thunk.

Hunger Games- I went in thinking it was gonna be a tween thing like Twilight. Actually the first movie was really good. Actually, very good. I didn't think much of the sequels, to be honest.saxitoxin wrote:Opinion on Valerian or the Hunger Games?Symmetry wrote:Not seen that one, but it's on my list. Glad you watched Snowpiercer. They should have collapsed the third and fourth films into a single movie.Symmetry wrote: Hunger Games- I went in thinking it was gonna be a tween thing like Twilight. Actually the first movie was really good. Actually, very good. I didn't think much of the sequels, to be honest.

Indeed, but then they would have made less money. It's not like they were trying to make good movies out of the split.saxitoxin wrote:They should have collapsed the third and fourth films into a single movie.Symmetry wrote: Hunger Games- I went in thinking it was gonna be a tween thing like Twilight. I think about 90% of the Avatar sequel ended up in Alita- Battle Angel.KoolBak wrote:Only 2 more years til the Avatar sequel.
Oh god, I'm still pissed on how they screwed up 'Ready player one'. I loved the book. The book was awesome, but the movie was nothing like the book.KoolBak wrote:Dude. Valeria is really the only choice. Hated snowblower. 1 hunger games was enough for all time.

Train to Busan is great. Far better than World War Z in terms of story telling. Also planning on watching the new korean netflix series called Kingdom. It's more fantasy than sci-fi though.saxitoxin wrote:Oh I totally forgot about Train to Busan. That was good. IDK if it counts as sci fi or not. You didn't like the first movie of the old planet of the apes?jonesthecurl wrote:The latest two planet of the apes movies fit in this time frame. Hated the original series, disliked the first "reimagining", have been blown away by the later ones.
