Like I said in the other thread, there are 23 mods (some not active) and 4800 members waiting to Whac them. It can't work, mathematically. Some of the mods do great efforts and make tons of games, but mathematically there will never be enough to go around.
Keep trying. Every time I log in I make a few games, and others do the same.
It might not be perfect no matter how you do it but it would work WAY better if there was a limit on how many games each player is allowed to play.
4800 members waiting to Whac a Mod??? Let's do some math.... 2.5 days left? out of 7 = 65% complete so far?...
Current Scoreboard has 8 players that have gotten in 20 games already with another another 4 players within reach of getting to 20 games at the rate the have been getting into them....
12/4800 = .0025%
Games of the 8 players that have qualified for the bigger prizes so far... 23, 20, 65, 83, 44, 29, 42, 20 = 326
I counted 662 games started by Mods on scoreboard so far... 326/662 = 49% of games started through the first 65% of the event has gone to 8 players

... 22% of the games started have the same 2!!! players in them
Yup. Sounds real fair, doesn't it?
In the old days, back when Gilligan ran this event and it was actually fun, people would apply for games in the thread, and then the organizers would send out invites, making sure everybody got a game who asked for one. Nobody got their second game until everybody got their first, nobody got their third until everybody had their second, and so on. Speed games were open to all comers but 24-hour games were parcelled out.
Then we switched to the current grindfest model and everything went to shit. The mods are forced to crank out ridiculous numbers of games in a hopeless attempt at satisfying the demand, but the demand is never satisfied because a few people snap up most of the games and most people still don't get a chance to play. Whenever I've pointed out that it's a rotten system and we should go back to the old way, I'm told than I'm trying to destroy people's freedom to choose how many games to play and who to play them with. Maybe I'm just a fascist asshole and an enemy of freedom and I can't help myself.
Anyway, I do my share. I keep my mouth shut (well, not entirely shut, lol) and crank out lots of games, even though I don't enjoy any of them. 8 members got 49% of the games? I knew it was bad, but I didn't actually look how bad. Thanks for doing the math, elat. Maybe if there's some pressure from the members things will change. God knows, nobody's going to listen to a freedom-destroying asshole like me.
