Post by modernzombie »

Anybody won The Rathole Senario yet? I am having a hard time figuring this one out. Any strategy tips?

Thanks.

1. take the Australia bonus
2. avoid contact with Slashbot first (take only 1 or 2 territories a time and be ready to break into any continent once it is fully owned by the bot; keep moving all of your spare troops together, so that you can succeed in this first attack)
3. once you are attacking each other:
- try to take as many territories from him as you can, while trying not to create routes for his stacks to attack you (e.g. if he has 50 troops on Beijing, you want him to keep Novosibirsk, Yakutsk, Magadan and Manila as well, so that he cannot start a major attack
- break each of his bonuses, if possible
- create your own bonuses if you can (less important than breaking his bonuses), but instead of defending them, go for the region advantage and attack until you have 1 or 2 spare troops only (the remaining troops can be used for the defense - reinforce them)
- in the first couple of rounds let him cash first but then cash your spoils as soon as you can
Game 15215132

How about 'Saxi Goes To Europe'? Have you won that one yet?

Yay, https://www.conquerclub.com/forum/posti ... 6&t=210004# finally managed it on the 9th attempt, disappointed I didn't get rewarded with a star of some description after all that effort!

Game 18033776

Thanks for the game plan Jatekos

JUS to clarify, if I understand the question here. There are two scenario Bot games with the words Rat and Hole. I think that most of us are discussing the 1v1 game scenario against SlashBot and 100 rounds (NOT the 5 Bot game, NOT Rats in the Hole):

The Rathole

Rats In The Hole Start

by bigWham

In the darkness, rats scurry like fleas to their plague-infested holes..

• Classic
• 5 Players
• Bot Game
• Fog
• 30 Rounds

The Rathole Start

by bigWham

Slashbot rules supreme over Earth while you lurk like a slovenly rat in a hole.

• Classic
• 2 Players
• Bot Game
• 100 Rounds

You're not convinced of what? That the black jesus is intrigued? What would convince you?

I don't find JP4Fs explanation convincing in the slightest. Not buying it.

I FINALLY won: Game 18181663

I used some of the ideas already shared in this thread. Thanks for the encouragement, as I was beginning to think this was IMPOSSIBLE, like a #16 seed beating a #1 seed in the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

The Rathole(senerio)

Post by DBandit70 »

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to win The Rathole(senerio). I've tried it a ridiculous amount of times but can't win.

I won!

It's complex. Took Australia. Moved to Middle East. Had to keep shifting bonuses (Africa, Europe, South America) as his stack moved. I couldn't beat his stack but I could control which way it could NOT MOVE. Don't take any terr. next to it.

Where he could move I placed some 2's to wear down his stack. This is also a good idea in Australia. He likes Australia.

Always play cards right after he does. Twice he moved his stack into a place where it can't attack! Once in South Ameruca the other in Australia. If so, try to make sure he can't card anywhere else!!! This is likely done turning in spoils! No card for him is Game over. :D

I never saw it before... tried twice... no matter how dumb the Bot is I think it’s near impossible to win.

A # 16 did beat a #1 seed, abouit one year later; Wikipedia source:
Shocking the basketball world twice in two years, Virginia lost to 16-seed UMBC in the first round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament only to come back and win the 2019 NCAA Tournament Championship the very next year.[9] ESPN called Virginia's 2018–19 campaign "the most redemptive season in the history of college basketball."[10] CBS This Morning called it "basketball's ultimate redemption story" the morning after the national championship match.[11]

I tried many different way none of them worked, I have been scrubbing many game log from those who passed this level and who had different strategies winning...none of the trial worked...I guess I have to be in game where the bot act as such it let me sneaking long enough to build a stack but it seems to be agressive in any attempt while I keep my distance from his stack and border territory...
