Wow, I log in in the middle of a hard day of work and find I have a rope around my neck and people are looking for a tree
Obviously, it looks bad if some claims he's a cop and I am scum. I don't know if I can prove beyond doubt that I am town, but I'd like you to consider the following:
1. Some of the votes against me are simply absurd. Like Derfderf's. This is the second day in a row he votes for me for a nonsensical reason. Why?
2. Mandalorian: yesterday, he voted for me for no other reason that that I was trying to identify the bad guys in the picture. How is that scummy? How can the discussion that I was trying to start and he derailed, possibly benefit anybody other than the town?
3. Today he votes for me again, this time claiming he's a cop. He says he investigated two people so far and both were said to be scum. Now, obviously, it's possible he got lucky twice in a row. But what are the odds?
You may call me biased, but I know what I am, and even if I didn't, I would be highly suspicious of any cop claiming he hit bull's eye in both of his first turns. I see several possibilities:
a) He's insane or paranoid, as suggested by others. In this case, a lynch is a loss for the town. I would suggest we let him investigate a third person before lynching on his say.
b) I am, unknowingly, the kind of character that gives the opposite result when investigated (Miller? I forget what they're called). In that case, a lynch is a loss for the town.
c) There's a bus driver who switched me and somebody else. Again, this will result in a loss for the town if I am lynched.
d) Mandalorian is scum himself. Yesterday, he went after me for bogus reasons and failed. Today, he's upping the ante by claiming cop. His cop claim may get me killed, which would be good for the mafia (i.e. Mandy), or it may provoke a counterclaim from a real cop, which would also be very convenient for the mafia (i.e. Mandy).
How about combining (c) and (d)? Mandy's scummy buddy is a busdriver who switched me with Mandy, so that the investigation results in me showing as mafia. A real cop may be inspired to verify his claim and find mafia too, for the same reason.
Alternatively, Mandalorian is simply lying through his teeth and will claim insanity once I am shown to be innocent.
"Don't lynch me," he will say,
"I may be a useless cop but I'm still a townie, honest, Guv!"
I am town. I have a power role that I will claim if I get closer to lynch, but for now, all I want to say is: lynching me would be a loss for town in more ways than just the death of a townie and the loss of a lynching opportunity.
Please consider what I said and give me a chance to roleclaim if the bandwagon moves on.[/i]
