Don't think I can go to bed that early.
I understand.

We might need some candles. There are some cool solar charging toys but the batteries still don't seem to last more than a few years.

See how it is when people try to help each other instead of criticize, makes for a better world. Wow, the world does seem a lot brighter.

I don't know why so many people are as angry as they are.

I'm just trying to not take the luxuries of modern life for granted.

Sometimes we went camping, hoping to help my offspring think about how people got by in the 1800s. It can be quite fun if it's only on weekends in the summer. Even then we started to cheat by using a trailer. Battery lights, flush toilet, propane refrigerator...

We love leaving town and cooking with a wood fire though. That is also a luxury for us currently.

Pretty easy to go get meat from a grocery store or butcher shop. We can even pick the parts we like. Fresh vegetables and fruit all year.

Does anyone seriously believe Biden will last four years without being overthrown? I think some people really do!

The new Administration won’t stand for violence.

8 arrested for Portland protest violence.

Gotta love the fast action and fairness...the new Admin. insists we punish political violence coming from Left or Right!

Now Biden is not only immortal, the most popular president in the history of the universe, has the power of levitation, had 10 million people attend his inauguration, but he also controls the City of Portland Police?
  • Portland police arrest 8

Ohhhhh Gym. Gym, Gym, Gym. :D

These protests have been going on for seven months now in Portland and, for seven months, the Portland Police have been arresting people. The only thing that's different is (a) they're now directed against Biden instead of Trump, (b) there are not federal agents deployed as Trump did to protect USG property.

Biden is a 175 pound pulsating blob of slime, hair folicles and calcium (assuming he isn't using dentures) who will get pressure washed out of the White House along with his cocaine-addicted son and his faux doctorate wife (the latter two who are reportedly fucking each other  ).

Sure the Iraq war was a farce and based on lies... and that’s bad.

Still, W. is of course gonna seen likable after the last 4 years.

W. seems like a guy you wouldn’t mind hanging out with at a BBQ... if he was taking his son to baseball practice you’d let him drive your kid too.
Neither of those things would be true of Trump.

Former presidents are not allowed to drive on public roads. I'd let my son go with Drumpht and Baron in a secret service driven vehicle. I probably would not let my daughter go though.

I know what you mean though. I would love to go to a BBQ or fishing with George W or even his dad before the old fellow passed away. I would go eat with Drumpht but just because I'm a glutton and I'm not afraid of drama.

I find it interesting that Dubya has no problem being there with democrats to encourage the new President, who is also "on the other team", because as a former president it's the right thing to do. I get the feeling he is not super tight with them yet is cordial and could meet and go out for a meal no problem.

If you were a self absorbed asshole who did not fit in and you just wanted to be the emperor, you probably wouldn't hang around that sort of event once you were replaced.

Jealousy is a bitch. It will be interesting to see if the Donald ever goes back to the White House for any events.

Aren't there somethings they invite former presidents to, even Nixon.

There are quite a few things. But his ego won't let him participate in anything where the spotlight might fall upon someone else.

I believe I saw an older tricky Dicky at the White House for something at least once, possibly an inauguration.

UPDATE: Nice try. Here I have pictures.

Speaking of Trump/Nixon comparisons, here is a funny quote. https://www.politico.com/story/2019/06/ ... on-1359209

"He left. I don't leave. A big difference."

Yeah, pretty funny. I would say Gerald is more forgotten than Nixon and he shares a surname with the first guy to mass produce motor vehicles.

I have a buddy that used to be able to name US president's in order way back. Possibly all of them. He did it at work one time at a construction site we were on. The rest of us were baffled before Carter or so. Besides knowing the obvious ones like Kennedy, Nixon, Roosavelt and Eisenhower. Some of the guys may not have known a few of them either.

His answering machine used to say, "Leave a message with Nixon." Referencing the Watergate tapes.
