And I'd prefer the opposite...battle for control of heaven, battle for control of hell. Heaven vs. hell would be a decent compromise, but I guess I'd be disappointed. Well, I'd just like to see something mythological/theological created. Like you, anything I can do to help...Pious wrote:I'd prefer a Heaven vs. Hell map with something in between them (Earth?). I'd be willing to help. If there's a small world map in between Heaven and Hell it could be to Classic what USApocalypse is to USA.
The way this map is going to be is everyone is only starting with one territory and the rest are neutral.thegeneralpublic wrote:Maybe I missed this; is there a reason the European countries can't attack each other?
Quite true. This is my 1035th post. How random was that?thegeneralpublic wrote:I think getting Bungie's approval would be in everyone's best interest, not just because "Coagulation" is a cooler name than "Top-down shooter." Thinking optimistically, they may even support it. I mean, why wouldn't they? Free publicity.

Alright, I'll send him a PM soon.edbeard wrote:don't worry about Gilligan. he's probably just keeping you aware
your version is smarter because like you said, not as wide open. also, with no updates in about 2 months, I say that mapmaker doesn't have a hold onto the idea if you wanted to grab hold of it. Or, if he does come back, he can use your layout ideas to greatly improve his map. Maybe you should send him a PM to see if you guys can coordinate on it?
Yeah, I didn't want to spend hours on making it look good if the concept as a whole was going to be rejected.edbeard wrote:to be honest, I don't think I'd play it much, just because I prefer maps of real areas in the world, but if you get the graphics going, you might have something some people will like.

I found this site a while back it is great. You should find something that you like.Pious wrote:Is there any good free font that I could use that look less plain with the numbers?

But that could quickly become complicated because there's different amounts of squares in every column and row. Each would have to have individually set bonuses, which could lead to far too many bonuses overall. And since there are blocked squares, you couldn't easily take a row/column "region."dominationnation wrote:THe only thing that I can say is that you should make the bonuses so that if you hold a whole colum you get a certain amount. If you hold a line you should get a bonus.
That's what it is now, see the key on the side.dominationnation wrote:If you hold a box you should get a bonus.
I'd have to rework the entire map if I did that because some boxes would become isolated. The point of blocked-off squares is so that there aren't complex rules.dominationnation wrote:I also dont think that you should be able to attack diagnoly.
Then you'd have to defend every square as they'd all be open to attack. No one would be able to hold a bonus.Keredrex wrote:But Did you think about Having the numbered squares as connections.... Like all the 3's are adjacent to each other.. or even one way attacks like 4's to 5's ,9's to 1's...Might throw an interesting twist... you would have to ADD small Little Numbers..... that show which side or corner that the numbered boxes connect to...What do you think
ok fair enough about the diagnol. I still think that you should get bonuses for colums and rows though. It wouldnt get complicated as it would look something like this:Pious wrote:But that could quickly become complicated because there's different amounts of squares in every column and row.
