So.

Did that bloke who appeared to associate foreskins with higher levels of HIV contraction ever explain himself? I can't be bothered raking through all this shit myself.

From what I can gather off of google (although I didn't try too hard) there's been a recent study that suggests that your likelihood of catching AIDs is marginally decreased if you're circumscised; but that if you give yourself a quick gentelman's-wash after sex then that marginal extra risk is eliminated. Although the study seems to admit that it's an isolated one, and that the evidence isn't that compellingly strong.

Basically, circumsicion might well marginally decrease your risk of contracting AIDs if you don't do genital hygiene so much; but there's no conclusive proof as yet.

Please feel free to contradict me (and my friend Google), I'll admit the research I did was fairly perfunctory. I just didn't want Stopper to feel alone...

Well, f*ck me ragged. Your post was enough to encourage me to take a further look, and I must have missed this story, when it broke in March 2007.

Note that circumcision as means of HIV prevention only really applies to countries with very high rates of heterosexual HIV transmission, so this would probably be a more-or-less useless measure in the West.

Still, bugger me.

i would never "do" a dude with an uncircumsized dick.. mostly because it just looks weird and disgusting. how many porn movies do you see with an uncircumsized dick in it? none, cuz it looks gross. I've seen them, and wouldn't touch it to save my life. and yeah, circumsized provides more pleasure for the chicks... I haven't had both to compare, but it seems to be common sense.

I mean, bald unverifiable statements are cool and all, but rational explanations that don't just sound like pejorative guesses that can't be proved by logic are even better.

So go for it. Spend just five minutes explaining the quoted sentence to us in a little more depth. We're all fascinated to hear your response.

Just as a side point, and not that I'm making any claims to expertise or anything, but I find it very difficult to tell whether someone's circumcised or not when they've got a stonk-on. So, how can you be so sure they aren't uncircumcised?

I've found this excellent essay "Not A Circumcision Aficionado", which Kayla (and others) might benefit from.
My favourite part is the advice for European nudists who may feel out of place in nudist parks in America - how to make your willy look circumcised (while flaccid), without using scissors, or anything:

First, grasp the penis near its base with the left thumb and
index finger, pulling the foreskin back slightly behind the rim
of the glans. Then, forming a loose circle with the thumb and
index finger of the right hand, gently stroke forward on the
folds of foreskin until they turn under. If done correctly, the
characteristically ragged leading edge of the folds of foreskin
will be turned under completely, leaving a sculptured look, as if
one had been circumcised by an expensive plastic surgeon.
Moreover, the foreskin will remain retracted almost forever.

That'll make yer eyes water.

Personally, I've seen plenty of porn videos with uncircumcised penises. They just look so similar when aroused, it's near impossible to tell. Also, I would personally not "do" somebody who is as big of a bitch, that she focuses so much on looks, that she can't get past a little flap of skin.
