In your hypothetical example of a sniper in a house, are you supporting the IDF tactic of simply bombing the entire street until you can't see anything moving?
As much as the US/UK invasion of Iraq was diabolical and resulted in 1 million+ deaths in total, even the US military (not exactly known for being clinical) managed to invade and capture cities without nearly the level of civilian death or displacement that the IDF is causing in Gaza.
The ruthlessness of the Hamas terrorist attack on civilians which included torture, rape, murdering babies and the elderly on October 7th, was sickening....what did you expect? Ceasefire negotiations the following day?
The savagery resulted in a retaliation of revenge! What did the people of Gaza expected? Hamas and their followers got their just desserts. To bad so many civilians had to pay with their lives.

Ruthless terrorists? Just desserts?
So... what's the difference?
I guess all killers have there reasons... and no victim is ever innocent, ...just dead.
When you put that way, it does almost sound like justice...
Who knows, maybe such virtue will come your way some time soon? Keep your fingers crossed.

German and Japanese civilians received their just desserts during World War II. They supported the massacre of civilians when they invaded their neighbors.

You reap what you sow
Then I will presume you also apply that same logic to every murder, rape, disfigurement, abortion, torture, genocide, holocaust, and enslavement in history.
The only logical alternative would be some form of double-standard bias, bigotry, and hypocrisy.

How can I respond? You have already put words in my mouth.

I see all and know all that is before you. I know the fears and worries that you carry. I carry all those and many more. Come follow me your Lord and your Savior, the one that leads to Heaven’s gates where we will meet face-to-face and see one another as we truly are. I am the Lord of all Eternity. I am not restricted by time and space. I am the Lord of Forever! Eternity we shall be together singing and praising to the Father of all for His greatness. I seek hearts that long for the Great One of Israel. He is here and now before you, I am He, the Great One of Israel! Come and seek your King of the Earth both now and forever amen!

I think our sense of Justice has advanced beyond an “eye for an eye” right/wrong, black/white, yes/no.

First off, don't knock Hammurabi. He was one of the greatest statesmen to ever rule.
Secondly, the real situation is far worse than any equitable 'eye for an eye' arrangement.
Isreal wants X number of eyes for every one they lose, and then refuses to pay any owed eyes themselves, because that would be a violation of their own fluffed -up, 'sacrosanct human rights'.
More than 25,000 Palestinians have now been killed by the Israeli army over the last 3 months.
The UN Secretary-General has today denounced the Israeli government and military, stating that 'Israel's military operations have spread mass destruction and killed civilians on a scale unprecedented during my time as secretary-general':
Cue OT posters with much more expertise than anyone at the UN lining up to say that the UN is a wing of Hamas and deserves anything that happens to it.

My peace goes with you. Continue to do the will of the Lord. My will holds the most peace that a person can find in this life. My will for you is to always listen to my voice and follow my will.
I am the Lord God maker of heaven and earth. I see all and know all. I know my sheep and they know me. I guide my sheep to everlasting pastures where grazing is plentiful. I the Lord am the Good Shepherd. I know my sheep and they know me for a guide them in everlasting ways.

The Lord was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation. - Lamentations 2:5
The Bible is like so totally way equivocal about that.
Actually, Israel is constantly getting it's naughty, sinful wrists slapped by Divine interventions.

lol - it's their indigenous homeland ... they're the ancient Israelites of Bible prophecy, etc. etc. ...
One of the soldiers killed yesterday, Yuval Lopez, was from a family of Incan native Peruvians whose entire community converted to Judaism en masse over 30 years ago, emigrated to Israel and settled in my former home of Alon Shevut in Gush Etzion (Judea). When they arrived they spoke only Spanish and their Incan dialect. They are an amazing community. May his memory be for a blessing and may Hashem avenge his death.
Three US citizens salaried to protect Zionist interests in the Middle East have been killed in fighting that took place today on the Jordan-Syrian border, approximately 7,000 miles from the USA.
Self-styled US President Joe Biden said in response that '[the US Government] will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner our choosing'. That time is presumably not now, as he then closed his statement and headed off for lunch.
Presumably he is planning to deploy the same tactics he deployed in Afghanistan: avoid confrontation with any significant military force, retreat to safety, then later panic about his tail-spinning opinion polls and bomb a few civilian targets that he can later claim he believed were terrorist cells.
Anyone planning to host an engagement party in Yemen this February had better watch out!

There is a Gold Star award in the military. It is a special lapel pin and flag that is given to the families of service members who have died while serving in the armed forces.
The Gold Star symbol began during World War I. At the start of the American involvement in 1917, families hung banners with blue stars representing family members in the services. If the service member died in combat, the family changed the blue star to gold.

I hear your cry. I come with compassion and love for those who are burdened by the world and its many demands. I come to those who call on me. Cling to me your Lord and Savior. For now is the time to come to me who is gentle and humble of heart. I call all to myself for I am the Lord who saves. I am the King of Israel, the Lord, the maker of all that is seen and unseen. I come for the salvation of souls. I am the Lord your maker who knitted you in your mother’s womb. I call to those who hear me. I speak to those who listen to my words for they do not fall on hard ground and are swept away. Come to me all who are burdened I am the Lord your God of Israel. You come when I beckon. I am the Lord your God!
He's been asked to keep his proselytising to the street corner but alas once a thread on Israel was created it was just a matter of time.

The difference between religious and secular political proseletyzing is a false dichotomy.
Making moral claims is what creates subjectivity, not the proposed existence of a deity or other mythological dogma.
Atheistic, but moralizing, philosophers like to distance themselves from religion while ignoring their own unsupported biases.
For example, the phrase 'All men (or people) are created equal' has no objective basis, beyond subjective ethical or superstitious belief...
