Terminator variation

Post by BobHacket »

Hey I had an idea, don't know if it has been suggested yet:

What would be think of playing a Terminator game where people are eliminated if you take their "capital".

The Capital would be randomly chosen at the begining of the game for each player (one of the countries that they own). If someone loses control of their capital they lose and the person who took the capital gets their points. Just like a Terminator game.

The other countries of the defeated player would become neutral countries. Just for the record I think this was an option of play for the board game of risk.

I suppose the same could be applied to an assassin game, where people are also asisgned which capital they are supposed to take in order to win, but I think the Terminator would be best.

I think that while playing capitals in the board game, the player got to pick their own capital. That way they could build up defenses around the territory rather than just getting one at random that could be on the opposite side of the map as the nucleus of your territory. It's a good idea, but it would only work with pre-game deployment.

When you only get the normal amount of 3 armies on your capital, you can easy lose before your first turn, so it will only work if you get more armies on your capital at the start (6-8).

I'd be down for that.

Also, I understand that you got to pick your capital but considering we don't get to pick countries around here I figured that random would be the only way even though it would be very, very easy to get screwed in such games.
