i don't know if it was an intentional "upgrade" or not, but the sidebar is no longer accessible from the forum. (at least for me) you have to go up to the top, click one of those tabs to get the sidebar back.
i really hope this is an unintended result of something that will be fixed. because while some things will get better as time goes on as you get used to it, this isn't one of those times. this is extra steps that wasn't needed before.
