unscored game option

Post by TeeGee »

We have a new option when creating a game: Unscored

This allows you to play anyone, try out new maps and settings without risking your CC score.

Generals no longer have to fear losing 100 points to cooks.

Play games Risk free ;)

whats to stop someone from getting to 5k points and then just play everything unscored from there? kind of ruins the whole point of the excitement of trying to beat high ranked player, instead they can now just sit back and hide on maps they win at a 95% rate

can we add an option to hide unscored games from the join game page?

Counting unscored games towards wins & losses percentage is absolutely ridiculous & embarrassing...also instead of offering unscored games it seems you could just have a box to check when making a game thats all entrants need to have a score above a certain number

check the box that says only players ranked 1600 or higher can enter this game or 1700 or 1800 there could be a few of those options... could also have a less than option for players wanting to play players in their experience zone

if you dont want to play games and risk your rank play scenerios

if you need a participation ribbon text me i will send you one

This feature makes me sad. Also, it's possible it may not work. Two speed games I played yesterday as part of the Easter even were labelled unscored but generated point losses.

I hope they don't.
You want medals you should play real games.

Also I agree with above comments - not a fan of this new featurea. We already have bot games and scenario for players that don't want risk their precious "score".
Generals no longer have to fear losing 100 points to cooks.
Generals afraid to lose to a cook aren't worthy of the general title anyway.
instead they can now just sit back and hide on maps they win at a 95% rate
I think they were already doing that, and the idea of that suggestion is to allow them to play on other games as well.

Sorry but Donelladan is the only player (as good as anyway - perhaps a few more like Lancelot and Josko are out there) but that's it as one of the players that don't want risk their precious "score". Most care indeed. Swimmerdude says it best and quoting here: "The disparity keeps you from playing certain game modes if you care about anything above swords. I, like many others happen to be vain in that way. For me, it means I can play all game modes again without knowing I'll only be colonel. Just kinda fun to play whatever and still try for score." Swimmer is not vain at all; just honest.

What we (CC) should do is invite Donelladan and Swimmerdude to a consultation platform and have them take up a consultation voice where they are to be considered VIP status.. Like the "architects of the future" who need the best overall player Donelladan and the best "honest / knowing" voice (speaking on all subjects !) Swimmerdude (there is) on all cc.

I don't want them to count for medals either, I was just curious. I'm pretty sure Scenario games don't so these games shouldn't either... but I do still think it's a net positive for the site to allow people to play games "Stress-free". Like Don said... a lot of high rankers already just sit on their points in fear of losing a lot of points in one game so this shouldn't have much of a negative impact with those players IMO.

The Terminator games have been exchanging points ;)

TO TeeGee and Webmaster.... Is this going to get "fixed" or is this intentional??

It's been looked into, but over easter there are a number of people taking time away (i am trying to as well :) ), so it is unintentional, but I can not answer on timeframe to a fix at this stage.

My guess (and I have had no confirmation either way) is all major site events will be unscored going forward. The Easter event may just be to gauge how unscored goes, but until everyone is back full time I am not likely to get a confirmed answer to this
