So Fircola answer me this

Is that why you unvote me?

I knew that early line was bad;
I knew when I said it not to.
Guys, meta-gaming makes me sad.

Vote Count!
  • mandalorian (1) - Incandenza
  • Selin (3) - mandalorian, jnd, Fircoal
  • Not Voting (8) - wicked, autoload, The1exile, pancakemix, kwanton, Selin, Talapus, Anarkistsdream
With 12 alive, it takes 7 to lynch!

(Since the issue has come up, I feel the need to point out that you should play the game, not the mod. I can't say too much here regarding Selin without ruining the game - so I won't.)

One summer evening, ages ago
In a Cafe that poets used to frequent,
A stranger walked in and took of his hat,
He was a rather peculiar gent.

Now, this poets, they are a friendly group,
They invited this fellow to join the fun,
He said: “My name is Selin and I write haiku,
Verse from the Land of the Rising Sun.”

Yes he is nice and he artistic,
A mafia player you could only ask for,
But I kept on having a particular filing,
As if a Critic just came came through the door.

So, Selin, he says, to keep us from worrying:
“I won't have problems talking with you,
See Aimless, our mod, he said it's ok
To have in one post many haiku”.
Selin wrote:Good news from aimless!
no limit one poem per post...
I'm happy again.

*****

It is called Haiku,
each seventeen syllables...
or say silly bells

Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn! (5)
Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn! (7)
Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn! (5)
“Also”,he added, while we listened amazed,
“Aimless, he has caused me some grief
See, he said there probably wouldn't be any haiku,
Which is why I am greeted with disbelief.”

“Oh, mighty Mod,”he continued to rage,
“Why are you doing all this to me, man?!”
And when he fell silent, expecting an answer,
I knew he was either insane or scum, my son!

Without going into too much detail too early (I'll give more out once I'm actually ready to start the game, which at the rate Sherwood is going probably won't be until August), it will basically be like this :

The game will be split up amongst poets (townies) and critics (mafia). Each poet will have a specific verse style (for instance, Haiku, although that is probably one I won't use, hence I feel safe naming it here) that they will be required to utilize for all of their posts.

The critics will have no such post restrictions (although, if they don't want to be found out immediately, they'd better fake one).

As for knowing how to spell - I don't mind the occasional misspelling (it is called poetic license, after all), but given the nature of the game I don't want to see you mangling the English language - unless your character happens to be e e cummings.
 HAIKU TO AIMLESS

What the hell :) is that?
Above words and pm me
"to write in Haiku"

.
See, mods, they are a particular sort,
They don't like it when thread with their PM's is filled,
Unless a player lies through his teeth,
He usually ends up being mod-killed.

That is why I stood up (if wobbly)
And said over the sound of a violin,
“I voted for you and my vote will stand!”
For, I do not trust this fellow, Selin.

(For all the people who wonder how "man" can rhyme with "son", I would like to add that this is an Irish Ballad :P )

You'll be sure only,
if you are a real poet
reading carefully!

If you are a scum,
you'll never understand
why I'm real poet.

For the time, forget Selin
We are focusing too much on one
There are some scum, but they ain't tellin'
So let's vote and be done

I Unvote just in case I needed to
Don't want to confuse the mod anymore
And now I will tell all of you
Who my vote will now be for

Autoload seems well removed
If he even has interest in this game
And his rhymes well, they didn't groove
And I think you all feel the same

My vote is on Auto yet again
Please make up your minds, my friends.

I couldn't believe my very own eyes,
When back to Cafe I had come
Expecting Selin to hang from a branch
His role testifying that good deed's been done.

Instead I found lot of confused Poets
Everyone voting a different guest,
I shook my head and exclaimed out loud:
“C'mon people, surely you jest!”

“First scummy thing that Selin has done”,
I started reminding those who forgot,
“Was saying that he can write, in a single post,
Not only on haiku, but also a lot.”

“Now this was a pretty transparent trick”,
I said, hoping that I am making sense,
“Were he really telling us what mod has told him
His 'Alive' status would become a past tense.”

“On the next occasion he was even more bold,
Directly from his PM had he quoted,
The fact that he hasn't been mod-kill,
Means that he's lying and he should be voted.”

When I finished speaking I took a long breath,
Then I went to the bar and ordered a drink
I found that I had nothing more to add,
But more isn't need, at least so I think.

If I could write heroic fucking couplets all day
I'd maybe be posting more and more
Instead, I have to write this horrible way.

I'm required to compose more lines than four,
and with such a demanding rhyming variety
it takes forever, and my brain gets sore.

Strict rhymes don't come naturally to me
Though I can whip up a haiku or two
I've never been much for traditional poetry.

Besides, wicked and selin are looking into
A lead, and mandy has an interesting notion
of which, thus far, we've had far too few.

I'm at sea on the votes, I say with emotion
Is it quittin' time yet? I needs me some potion!

Fircol for the last time
I ask you this question
has the mod warned you yet
'bout any of your posts?
it's pretty straightforward,
quit dodging the answer.

All answers given now
fircoal, mandy, jnd
and also wicked

My conclusions are:
that wicked and mandy are town.
that's almost for sure.

About jnd,
Don't know, I'm not sure so far
I'll just FOS him now.

I will vote Fircoal,
for skimming and for some more
which I won't explain.

Those who could follow
my vote logic of Fircoal
are invited too.

Auto, like I said
may have a special role
therefore I'll wait now.

That he denied us
to tell his role on day one
does not fit to scum.

All the others there
I don't have a real clue yet
that means I'll wait now.

Like a dull humming of immense machinery
this game has become mundane
perhaps 5 more lines from me would help
more than 5000 would
For confusion cast it's spell upon us forever and a day.
