AoE 1 was ok, I didn't like 2 as much, I liked 3 a lot. AoM is pretty good, too.

Other games good for historical accuracy are the Total War games, which are quite excellent. I need the new one.

Total War Games rock. I have Rome, I have Medieval 1 & Viking Expansion and I have Medievil 2. Though Medievil 2 keeps dropping out when something big happens (electing a new pope, crusade etc etc), and it's getting on my nerves. I think I may have to uninstall and then install it again.

well, yeah, but its telling the exciting half f the story. If the campaign was what villagers thought of Atilla, it wouldnt be as fun.

I've got Rome+BI and Medieval+Vikings. You might need a patch for the crashing, you can get those at totalwar.com.

Oh good, thanks. I'll look at it. And I've always wanted to get BI, but I haven't. Is it better than the original Rome?

Not really. It might just be my opinion, but It's just not as fun. Unless you're the Sassanids. But it's not worth it to spend that much to play as 1 faction.
