This still doesn't make sense. It's The University of Michigan, and Michigan State University. So trying to call both Michigan doesn't work. What about Central, Northern, Western, and Eastern Michigan? Are they all Michigan too?

State is better in basketball. Historically, Michigan has 9 national titles in hockey, State has 3. Michigan is better. In the only sport that matters, football, Michigan is untouchable in this state.

No, they would be Central, Northern, Western and Eastern. MSU or State works, because none of the other schools have State in their name. But for UM, you have to call them by their full name, or use initials, because calling them Michigan narrows it down not a whit. Which is why I say that UM arrogantly assumes they are the only university in the state. They refer to themselves as Michigan. As if they are all that exist.

Besides your incorrect assumption that Macomb is a university (it's a community college) Why do you even care that UM has a good football program? It's not like you have any more ties to it than to MSU, or WSU, or OU. You're just a bandwagon fan.
