ok how bout this make them all equal at like 4 but if you control fire and water you lose 2 bonues on the fire one.. and if you control fire water and grass you could get minus 2 on fire(because of water) minus 2 on grass(because of fire) and plus 2 on grass(because of water)
really like the idea dont listen to that idiot........ great idea keep it up and maybe talk to some of the other map creaters to help you out with graphics
I think the map should be redrawn with the empty space between the territories reduced; too much of the "real estate" is taken up by empty "ocean" space. Wood should definitely be bigger.

New version based on plysprtz' idea (the only difference is that i change wind+fire).
I only changed the bonuses, I didnt really change the graphics or anything else (ill get to it). IM not really sure what to do about the islands, so plz respond.
The first thing I'll say is that I like the concept. The negative responses here are disappointing - I hope people are a little kinder when I post my first rough drafts. Of course, the initial post needed a lot of work, but I took it as "here's a concept," not "here's a map I think is ready to play."
I think the art has made improvements, needs more work: background texture; tone down the colors a little; maybe fire-water-etc. textures for the elements; reduce the territory label text; remove explanation of attack lines, cleaner or more stylized borders, maybe cool element-specific army-display circles.
As for gameplay, I agree that it is similar to 8 Thoughts, but there are differences. And considering the number of maps that have no "features" but are still interesting, I don't see similarities as a big problem.
I like the Island bonus. Perhaps they could attack each other, but only in a ring (A->B->C->D->A)?
I also like the suggestion about having both continent bonuses and synergy bonuses. Maybe something like: Element Bonus: hold continent for +2 to +3, size dependent. Element Synergy: opposite pairs +2. Element Conflict: neighboring pairs -2. Spirit Unity: no continent bonus, new territory bonus on center (bonus armies auto-deploy there), neutral start center, large bonus for holding Spirit + any Element. Island Bonus: hold Islands for +2.
added changes to the graphics, still need some more opinions about gameplay. Sorry, Spockers: im not ready to give up yet. I believe (maybe its just a hope) that all maps can be playable with a lot of tweaking. I mean, its only update 7! aom has 74 updates!

keep it up i would say completely redo the colors and make wood BIGGER. People tend to like paler colors im still trying to work on the colors of my map and im having simmilar problems.
It might be great for a normal game, but I kinda don't like the idea of losing armies for holding two opposing elements. If anything it should be you gain defense or are weak against the opposing elements...but with the way this game is played I don't really see it happening. Don't get me wrong, its a good idea I just don't see the concept working out.(Is that a double negative?) The map might make people confused especially newcomers so an rt with a newcomer is out of the question.
Bottom line I like it but others probably won't because they're babies.
Keep working on it you'll eventually get it right
