Lock Cheat and Abuse reports after verdict.

Community & Site suggestion

Lock Cheat and Abuse reports after verdict.

Often after the Cheat and Abuse reports have recieved enough notice from the mods and a verdict has been passed, those threads still stay alive. They either degenerate into small flames or something else irrelevant. My suggestion would be to let the mods lock the thread after their verdict to prevent further spamming. It would also lead to still open thread to be more easely visable and means less clutter on the board.

In all it would lead to less clutter on the board, and give non decided threads a better chance of being looked into.

Good idea, it always ends up being a minor Flame Wars forum in there

If you see spamming or flaming, let a mod know. We'd rather warn those users than lock a topic, to give the accused a chance to comment if they didn't before the verdict.

Wicked, just a suggestion, but could the mod not post that piece? The mod who locked the case could then state something to that effect(see below). The appeals are handled outside of the forums, no need for those to appear in the cheat and abuse reports either.

A)In essence, once a case has been closed, someone might still appeal.
Should he win the busted quote should IMHO always be reversed by the mod in question. The person/thread would revert back to cleared.

B)Is the person guilty as busted multi and simply upgraded, well the reasons are no longer relevant, since its clear he is no longer a multi. However the unspoiled and unflamed records remain. If someone feels the need to give reasons he can do so in the regular forums.

C) User dissappears to never been seen. No need to keep its page on top or open.

I guess if it is really, really important to a user, he could ask a mod to post his appeal/reasons. It would be out there for everybody to read.

Anything I missed?

So instead of asking the community here to follow the guidelines, you'd rather create more work for the mods? There have been cases where the discussion after the fact, by more than just the accused, have led to an overturn of the verdict. That's why I think the way it's done now is fine. No one is forcing you to read all the threads here anyway.

Well its not the reading I had in mind, but more the speed and efficiency of the abuse reports. But if it helps to overturn a verdict, well I would not stand in the way of that. If with a single box ticked a post can be locked i figured that be easyer then to have to keep reading all the posts that get added even after a verdict. It was meant as a suggestion to lighten the load of the monds, not enhance its burden.

no lol

in most cases in cheating and abuse, the accused is banned

a banned account cannot post on the forum so could not reply even if they wanted too

You should know, eh?

Accounts of busted premie multi's are not banned for first offense. Plus others familiar with them IRL can comment as well, as has happened before as well.
