okay y make 5 maps of the same thing? and u dont need to have 5 different points of view for the same map, u only need one to playKaplowitz wrote:Maybe make like 5 different maps in the eyes of different races. All exactly the same gameplay, just make the map look like how you think that race would see a map of it. Maybe the Katarians' map could be written on paper a sloppy text, and say "New Kataria". The Human's map could be like written like a type writer with a few logos on the top (to avoid copyright issues make up futuristic companies).
"Large Katarian Map"
"Small Katarian Map"
"Large Corporation Map"
"Small Corporation Map".
that would take a lot of work, but it could be pretty cool.

we understand your point keyogi but you also must understand ours. it's impossible for so many people to work properly without posting in the same thread.KEYOGI wrote:I apologise for trying to do my friggin mod duties, I don't know how you guys expect anyone to follow the thread properly.
I'm not sure this is a good fight to be having. I have to ask though. I don't understand why these are the rules and we can't use the forums for this discussion. It is on topic with forming a map idea from my perspective, but I'm a dumb American, so... I dunno.KEYOGI wrote:A map needs a maximum of two people working on it. If there's more, then that's all your own predicament.
Take it to PM or email, it's how I have shared map ideas, images and info with many other members.
KEYOGI wrote:Use email and send copies to everyone involved. It's how it's been done in the past.
If only there was a way to send an email to more than one person.... and some kind of..... "reply all" ... button....DiM wrote: then gimil responds and we exchange 10 emails discusing the pics.
now i send those 10 emails to all the others. te coleman has an opinion on the space stations and on gimil's comments and we exchange 20 emails between the 3 of us. then i send those 20 emails to the rest of the participants.
Please explain how this was helpful to the foundry and the process of making this map. If you can't I hope you figure out how to undo your meddling. If this is some attempt to set an example it is a poor one. You should take action against actual abuses of the foundry instead of punishing a single map for all of them. I can't help but feel you are enforcing unnamed rules to make yourself feel more important.KEYOGI wrote:I deleted your posts. I'm sorry I didn't take your fragile feelings into account and give you a detailed PM about the reasons why I removed your posts. I think it's pretty bloody obvious why. Just get your act together guys before you turn the foundry into a circus.
From my perspective this was Andy giving us the okay to continue to collaborate in the fashion we had been. He indicated you both agreed on this until we had a working map. Since we don't currently have a working map I am further annoyed and flabbergasted by your moderation and deletion of important data.AndyDufresne wrote:I agree that I did like the start of this idea, but it's getting tough to follow now. E-mails and other such would be the best for collaboration, but Keyogi and I agree that since it is the Map ideas, you can keep production going this way, and further on in the thread go with a unified map and idea, you might just have to let everyone know when that is.

Two of the people posting images have already received a number of warnings not to do so. The only people inflating their ego are the likes of DiM who seem to think they are above advice and recommendations.Coleman wrote: Please explain how this was helpful to the foundry and the process of making this map. You have to understand from our perspective you were power tripping. I understand you feel you're doing the right thing, and I respect that. Plus if Andy is with you on this I have zero room to argue. The problem here is that with most maps there is 1 or 2 people. This had 6 at one point, and there was just no way to do that constructively in this environment.Coleman wrote:I'm taking [the topic] somewhere else where we can hopefully get something done.
