Game 706178, can anyone comment, please?

I'm not a very frequent player and I just wanted to play a nice game. So I joined game 706178.
Once I saw how this guy was playing (he wasn't even trying to put up a fight) I checked his feeedback and came to the (premature?) conclusion that he wanted to dump me. Which is fine by me. I can understand his point of view.
But since I thought he spoiled my game, I decided to have a little fun along the way. I know, not very mature, but I did what I did. I would have let it go saying that it was a joke. but then he called me a nigger.
Being a black man from the Netherlands, I could easily be offended, but that has proven to be a waste of time and energy the past 30+ years of my life and is not the reason why I post this.

I'm just curious what anyone's thoughts are on this matter. Personally, I think I'm pretty funny, but I can imagine that some of you would disagree.

Although i do not agree with him using the work "nigger" and he should be up for a ban for the use of the word, if you provok someone by acting the way they did you should expect retaliation in one way or another. A good life lesson is to never give anyone a reason to call you anything.

well to be fair, what might be considered funny in the netherlands is probably not funny anywhere else. The problem is, the people in the netherlands think a lot of things are funny because, well let's face it, you guys are baked 24/7.

To be honest, I'm not sure. He made some choices I didn't understand (I'm not a very experienced player), and then I read his feedback and jumped to conclusions.

Again, I was going to tell him it was a joke, but then he called me nigger. I don't think Beastof is racist or anything, but a bit of an IQ problem he does have. The thing I find funny is that apparently he thinks he has to call me a toothless nigger in order to get me to finish the game.
I realise that the sense of humour differs from individual to individual, but I since, in my opinion, his reaction was out of proportion, I decided to have fun and piss him off.

I probably am an idiot, but I am an idiot with a smile on my face. He's pissed at me more because of my joke than I am because of him calling me a nigger. And that's how I handle retards. Very zen. If someone can't take it, put me on ignore.
Despite these posts, I'm not here to make jokes. I just want to play occasionally and casually.

Dunno. As always I find that people overreact to "profane" words. All words are part of the language and one shouldn't put to much into it. This guy had no reason to believe that you're black (and frankly, we have no idea to know if you are), you were just unlucky being black and that guy chose that term to express his anger with your playstyle. If you indeed delayed the game on purpose to taunt him, well, you gave him a reason to curse. He could have used a lot of ways to express it, but here he chose "nigger". If he were Flamish, he could have called you a wothless Valon using the same pharses. Or "motherfucker" etc. etc. Words are words. And in today's society the word "nigger" is used now and then, especially in popular music were it's used quite frequently by black musicians. And what do we know, he may be black himself being accustome to use the term. It's one thing if people go around in many games or in the forums cursing, being obnoxius. But in a game or two, ah, doesn't matter. It's just a PC reaction here. Just get over it and put the moron on your ignore list.

I couldn't agree more. As you might have read in my gamechats (assuming you read dutch as well), I do not spit on some foul language. Actually, I love it. I see it as a part of the game and the fun altogether. But there is a difference in tone. and that's what made me come to the forum. To check what other people think. (and I have never been unlucky being black )

I did do it on purpose to taunt him. As a reaction to what I interpreted (after reading his feedback) as getting rid of me. I actually understand his POV, but my game wasn't fun for me anymore, so I pulled the ol' let's-get-all-the-neutrals-first-joke. He gets pissed, I tell him it was a joke, no harm done. That was the plan. Then he called me a nigger, and despite the fact that I agree with you about words are just words, when someone says "i love you" wether you want it or not, it does something emotionally. So I reacted with not telling him it was a joke. Overreacting would be me crying for a ban, but I'm not and my ignore remains empty. Then came the forum threats. And then I became curious what other people would think of this situation. Not just the word nigger.

Just get over it .

Someone taking all the neutrals in a 1v1 is mildy frustating - not worty of the abuse he gave you. And you say he knows a bit about you, and that from the start he was trying to annoy you, it sounds like he is trying to pick on you... so trying to piss him off back is the least you can do, surely...
