Agreed with muy_thaiguy. At least the German troops (the average soldier, not the nazis in concentration camps) followed Geneva conventions - the Japanese troops didn't even follow that. Stalin killed an insane amount of people (and was the direct cause of many other deaths), but when people praise Stalin, we don't consider that as bad as when someone praises Hitler. The same goes with Mao or Hirohito (the argument that hirohito was a puppet during ww2 doesn't work -- many documents and letters were found showing involvement with the japanese invasions) in terms of amount of people killed, they were just as bad as Hitler.

He's the only person in history to fight and win against such huge odds placed against him. He's only the most hated person because he lost and the incident was recent, in a couple hundred years everyone will have forgotten about him (and I'd actually like you to find young people that hate him, most don't care, only war veterans and the generation after them really give a shit). The rules of war are part of the 'pussification' process I was arguing against. He would've been executed either way, killing himself just spared the ridiculous trial that would have sentenced him (they actually tried non nazis at the Nuremburg trials, and just plain old military officers who were doing their jobs and wern't involved in the holocaust in anyway).
