Mabye they should make it such that Each person has five mins starting from the time they can play to the time they finish their turn.Jones888 wrote:I have not had any problems since the update.
However, there is some cheap ways to win in speed games. I just found this out, due to the fact that I did it to a player to win (accidently, at first). This applies to freestyle speed games. Rounds are 5 min, so if you end your turn first to have your opponent play last in that round. Then before you start your next turn delay starting until about 1 min or 1.5 min remaining. Quickly finish your turn and when you opponent starts his turn he will have like 30 sec or less to complete his/her turn. If they dont realize that they will run out of time and wont get a card!
Personally I dont like players who take the "cheap" route to win, so I wanted to point this out. I dont know how you can change the game rules to avoid such a thing, though. Just be careful of players starting to do this on freestyle speed games.
DiM are you complaining again?DiM wrote:after playing a few speedgames (i won all of them) i can truly say 5 mins is nowhere near enough especially in escalating games with 4 or more people. or on large maps. in one of my games i almost lost because after taking out 2 players i clicked deploy on the newly cashed in 45 troops and i received a "ran out of time" message. 45 troops lost plus i lost my card for that round.

I find 5 mins is enough. Guess you gotta work faster lol.gimil wrote:DiM are you complaining again?DiM wrote:after playing a few speedgames (i won all of them) i can truly say 5 mins is nowhere near enough especially in escalating games with 4 or more people. or on large maps. in one of my games i almost lost because after taking out 2 players i clicked deploy on the newly cashed in 45 troops and i received a "ran out of time" message. 45 troops lost plus i lost my card for that round.

How many times does this have to be said!?: The servers wouldn't be able to handle all those speed games if just anyone were able to play them. I don't see this as a ploy only to get more paying members. Yes, it may help, but I don't see the CC admins as shallow or thoughtless.jc103 wrote:oh yeah, just remembered, want to say:
I think introducing speed games solely for those who have membership is an utterly hypocritical joke.
It shows that all you care about is working up more revenue and not really at all for those 'lesser' players that do not pay to play. Indeed, a very unimpressive update, in my eyes all it has done is made the CC admins appear very shallow and thoughtless.
Probably because you see it from the full-available-range perspective...cramill wrote: How many times does this have to be said!?: The servers wouldn't be able to handle all those speed games if just anyone were able to play them. I am quite happy to drift along playing 4 games at a time,if I wished to play speedgames or take advantage of the other membership privileges then I would simply cough up the ten quid. Frankly I am amazed that some of you guys have the nerve to criticise Lack when he is giving you something for nothing, any good business will put its paying customers ahead of the freeloaders. Giving speedgames to non members will simply clog up the server and be one less good reason to support the site financially as they could easily play 2 or 3 games per day.jc103 wrote:oh yeah, just remembered, want to say:

I think everybody accepts now that this is the case for escalating, hopefully variable timing will be introduced sooner rather than later. To be honest though we may have to accept that we play a specialised form of the game which is unpopular with many others, dont exactly make us a priorityjako wrote:but i still would like to see the speed games with a option to choose the turn lenghts. 5 mins is just not enough for an esc game. and rocket, u try playing a 5 way speed game and see if 5 mins is enough for u. just dont start crying if u run out of time.
i only play speed games in 1v1. other than that it's not really that fun because i like escalating.comic boy wrote:I think everybody accepts now that this is the case for escalating, hopefully variable timing will be introduced sooner rather than later. you keep any cards you have, no matter how many. on your next go if you have 5 or more you must cash before deploying.jako wrote:if u dont end ur turn before time runs out, u dont get a card. if u cashed in a set and u dont deploy before the time runs out, u lose all those troops. pretty much u lose everything if u run out of time. but i wonder what would happen if u let the time run out while u still have more than 5 cards? would u just cash them in next round so u cna restart the cash chain again? would u lose the extra cards and be left with 5 cards? would the site go crazy if people started let their time run out without cashing in when they have more than 5 cards so that they dont run out of time? so many scenarios. i may have to try out this idea of mine.
When I desire to play it that way. I can play and finished 10+ games a day without a membership. I just make sure that I am only playing 2 out of 4 games possible and I play r/t games with 1v1. It's normally what I do in the evenings or on weekends. It's worked thus far but I think that Freemies should have the ability to join an already created speed game. That would still allow quick games but keep the amount on the server down. It's the same as the password game setup, etc...joecoolfrog wrote:I am quite happy to drift along playing 4 games at a time,if I wished to play speedgames or take advantage of the other membership privileges then I would simply cough up the ten quid. Exactly what MY issue with all this is. By all means, allow only members to CREATE speed games, but to block free players from joining them COMPLETELY?? If you look back over the suggestions threads to where the ideas of speed games were suggested or developed, you'll see a majority of those for it being f2p anyway (considering the majority of CC accounts are f2p), so is it such a shock that i'm a little annoyed that the hosts are using this as another money-making technique after it was plain it was so desired by all?nitroazz wrote: ...but I think that Freemies should have the ability to join an already created speed game. My 2 cents...
