Hot Dice!

6 person standard game. Down to 3 people. I know that the next person is only going to get 6 armies at the end of my turn. So, I make sure to leave 5 armies between the next person and the weakest person (basically - I'm going to kill the weakling).

NOPE !!!

Person B goes ahead and goes for it, they manage to have 7 armies take out a series of SIX one defended territories - meaning they didn't lose a single roll (in 6), with the last two being 2v1 and 1v1 !!!

EDIT: The chances of this outcome aren't as bad as I originally thought. Using approximate numbers it's equivalent to 2/3 x 2/3 x 2/3 x 2/3 x 5/9 x 4/9 = 320/6561 = 4.9% (so, about 1 in every 20 desperation runs work).

Now, I'm pretty much dead *sigh*

So much bitching here about supposed "bad dice" that I thought I would report the flip side:

Yesterday I could do no wrong, the rolls kept coming my way over and over again!

Then this morning I got my ass kicked! I was losing six and seven in a row against one defender while rolling three dice!

Guess what? That is exactly how it is supposed to work!

God I love this game!

-It's got rational analysis
-It's got the psychology of opponents (so what if an idiot comes in on some games and makes irrational attacks---that's part fo the process!)
-It's got the sting and victory of variable dice...good runs and bad.

It's the best board game ever invented!

I love you.

Although this thread is still as pointless as those complaining about the dice...

Dice are random but there is something else less random about that points/dice ratio.... lol

don't try to tell me the dice are random! i haven't had any luck since i started this game, i just lost 6 armies trying to attack 1 army!!!!!! this is cheating, the script for the dice should be rewritten

Those are pretty much the same type of game... not quite, but if you gain 10 points for a win in a game you would expect to lose 40 if you lost to the same opponents, and if you lose 30 for a loss you would expect to win 13

yep im the guy who has screwed up rolls every game, let me know how long it takes for luck to change. and what decides if a player goes 1st or second, had 3 games started at went 2nd in all 3 with bad drops and of course crappy rolls

I was second in a 1v1 game, unlimited forts.

I faced an 8, and two 3s.

I made three 4s.

The first 4 rolled against the 8, and brought it down to 2 without loss.

The second 4 killed a 3 without loss.

The third 4 killed another 3 without loss, earning me a +2.

Turn ended with my own 8 facing my decimated opponent.

Hot Dice!

For the record: my hottest dice ever was when I started with a 6, and beat a 5,2,3,2 without a loss.
