I personally believe that these three are not multis
ive played a game with joebiel and sparky24 and they each have thier own strategies and log on at different times for the most part. They have some sort of website proving they all exist. I dont believe anyone would go to such great lenths to have multiple accounts. More importantly, the seem to be good natured people and good natured people would most likely not cheat.

Its appears i was wrong! sorry for throwing gasoline on the fire, but i enjoy doing so! nothing personnel, i just pick some of these cheating forums and pour on the gas, first apology ive issued! But its not over yet, they haven't ruled on this one! and its been sitting here a while! so lets see if they are just trying to get more evidence! So i guess what i am saying is i am kinda sorry!!!!!!!!!

I feel sorry for their opponents, as they are missing out on a fair legal and useful advantage.

Secret alliance in team games...BAH. Like teeth and a chicken. Won't work together. No matter how hard you try.

Thank you for posting an explanation in defense of your side. We shall take that into consideration. But we shall also take note that you have involved yourselves in playing different types of games.

joebiel, sparky24 and edwinfallwell are cleared of being multi's but blocked from playing future games together.

Really? That is kind of unbelievable. Whats the reason? "Playing different types of games"? Whats that even mean? That we played both team games and vs. each other? Is this a standard rule, that if you play team games together then you can not play vs. each other? How do clans work in this game? Are they not alowed to play games vs. each other? What about established triples teams? When they play as a team in many different games, and develop a friendship, are they no longer allowed to play games together?

edwin- It is tough when you get into cases of people who actually know each other playing as opponents in the same game. That's the basis for most secret alliances, which doesn't mean you personally have one but I think you understand why its suspicious.

What I wish we had was a way to block players from joining open standard games together. But still allow them to make private standard games or to play in team games together. That way the secret alliance allegation is still sorted out but family/friends would still be able to play with one another. In fact, I'm going to suggest that to lack right now

Why are we being blocked from playing with each other if you do not have anything but suspicions, which we've established have been totaly unfounded.

I still have not been presented with any evidence of wrongdoing on my part. I'll restate: Is the act of playing with people you know in real life breaking the rules? What about people I know from inside the game, can we play together? I've seen game finder filled with the same teams, playing 10's of games together. I assume that they know each other in some fashion. Lot's of the top players routinely play each other, they have had to developed friendships by now. Are all of these players breaking the rules?

In addition to this, you are now not even responding to the OP's ticket, It was about a team game, and we were called multi's. This charge of secret allience is tangential, and no one has evidence that we have formed a secret alliance! There is not a ticket for the secret allience, nor any evidence for the alligation. If you can come up with a shred of evidence, plese, post it here, or if you rater, PM me. This is a very souring experience, being accused of something, I came here because our RL risk games took too long, consumed up half a night on adverage, and I just wanted to play with my friends. What about if we just agreed never to enter into competitive games with each other? It's not something we're interested in anyway.

Most of the non-team games we did were 3 players, before we had each played 5 games, or we joined them by accident.

I suppose if the engine can be reprogrammed so team games are differentiated from single player games, then that would work.

Ironically, the initial allegations here were based on us playing a team game on the same team.

This sucks. Why can't they play with each other if it isn't going to put them in a position to make "secret alliances?" Can't they play a three player game among themselves? What if they say, every time they are in the same game "hey wqe know each other, the mods wanted us to tell you" or something? What's worse, though, is that the game in question was a team game--and the question was whether or not it was multiple accounts. If there were not multiple accounts, then why the heck are they blocked at all?

I have to say this: it's nice that there is an actual acknowledgment of the
fact that this can be frustrating for people. However, it kinda sucks that if they had just said "hey, this was a team game, we aren't multis" they would probably be fine.

All this will end up making people want to do is to make them WANT to make multiple accounts, after they get "blocked."

Seriously? Being friends shouldn't preclude you from being able to play standard games together, if the goal is to remain a site where there is always a free level to play.

But, "premium" being the way it is, I can see how being able to play private games together would be a great benefit to premium membership.

As edwin and joe have said, it sucks to join a site so people can play risk together and then to not be able to play with them.

Of course friends can play together. But if you have the ability to play on the same computer, in the same time frame, in a standard game, the notion of an alliance can't be helped.

Would you want every john doe to report you if ever they got eliminated early on whenever 2 or the 3 of you is involved in a standard game and tell us that you have a secret alliance together because you didn't attack your friend when he had just 1 army on your border, your moves are questionable, something is not right, etc.

The block remains. As what sully800 has said, we shall bring this up to the Webmaster's attention.

This is faulty logic. We don't want to play standard games.

We want to play team games where we are all obviously on the same side.

It does not seem like 99% of the responses reflect this.

Not one of us wants to play standard games together, we only really want to play team games. The only time we played standard games was early on, before we learned how hard it is to be unbiased when you know the people involved. Then we stopped, save one exception, when Joe made the wrong type of game and it was underway before we took note and had a chance to drop it. That was the crossword game a little while back, in which no one questioned us on a secret alliance, because none existed. We all played to win, and it was a long drawn out game. In fact, not once have we been accused of being a secret alliance outside of the thread. (If there was anybody reporting us as a secret allience, then I sure missed it.)

I'll ask again, does playing people you know constitute a secret alliance? Have you ever played anyone you know? You're a mod, chances are that you've been around for a while, so you've gotten to know the people who play here. Some you might even call friends. You've probably played games together. Was knowing the people that you play with a secret alliance? Assuming your an honest risk player, then no. In fact, I've seen people have "Pikachu Clan", are they banned from playing together? What about all of the people with the same crest as their avatar, who I assume know each other, can they play together? If they can, what makes that different?

This would be quite fine, seeing as how we never want to play standard games. You seem to have missed the posts where we stated this. I think that you don't understand that this ticket was for a team game. Never has a "john doe" reported us for being in a secret alliance. I don't see what the problem is, do you routinely ban players for rule violations that never occurred? That's an awful weird way to operate, with pre-emptive justice and all.

Rules and guidelines are implemented not only for punishment but also for prevention.

Anyway, after re-evaluating this with sully800, we have decided to give consideration and a second chance for your situation. We have unblocked your accounts now, but please stick to team games (be teammates) or private singles games to avoid possible accusations of secret alliances or being multis again.

Thanks, this is great news. I'm glad we worked it out in the end. Thanks for being understanding! I've found in many communities that the mod's first judgment is supreme, even when the allegations prove to be wrong later, the mod still sticks by their first judgment. I'm glad that this community is not like that. There is intelligent discussion. You guys do a good job running this community.
