Map of India.

Post by foozballguy »

A map of India needs to be made. It could be perhaps the whole subcontinent: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Maldives. Maybe even Burma, Tibet, and/or Afghanistan. But a map like this needs to be made. I would like to make one, but I've never made before, so I don't know how good it might turn out to be. Hopefully this idea can become a reality.

It's already in the works. I'm not sure if it has been worked on for a while though.

thats actually a pretty good first draft for something that was done in a hurry. perhaps u should continue it depending on how its been since the original map was updated.

he posted an update a month ago but before that it'd been 4 or 5 months.. it seems he pops in from time to time.

I was able to draw this up in a hurry because I used the same desert color settings etc.. from my ancient egypt map

That map was a particular favourite of mine and its nice that you've used the same bonus structure. I'm not sure what the official doctrine is on taking over maps but maybe you should drop the original cartogropher a PM or wait to see what one of the assistants view is because I'd like to see that map played.

Reverend_Kyle...i don't think there is a rule in the Foundry about taking over someone else's map.

However I would consider it only courteous to contact the original cartographer and ask if he/she is going to continue that map, and when.

France has been done twice now, and the second version is now near ready for Quench.

Who knows, you might have some collaboration on the original map, or perhaps the asking might prompt the cartographer to return to working on that map very quickly. Got the idea!

I liked it alot too, and the cartographer seemed to be inactive, but I posted it here mainly for permission from CA's to continue.

I wouldn't mind you continuing. If you don't get a reply from the original cartographer in a week I'd lobby for your version moving forward.

well I guess you sent a PM? But, I think if that doesn't get a response maybe Lack or Andy should send an email to him asking if he plans to continue, or if he wouldn't mind someone taking over. He might even support that by giving up his photoshop file or whatever program he was using.

Nothing against getting started but especially since you basically just copied his map exactly every effort should be made to contact him first and give him ample time to respond. I'd say starting without sending an email would be in bad taste.

Lots of work and amendations had already been carried out, and a few of the mod's have commented favourably + urged to its completetion

Give this one some consideration.
No offence, but i think on gameplay and style this one takes the cake so far.[/url] (If it had some more mountains)

Though it hasn't been touched in a long time.

That author is unreachable. It's been long enough.

The new India map can continue work if the good reverend is still interested. Sorry it took me so long to say anything, I've had a busy past two days.

Kyle, I think you should make a new topic if you are continuing this.

Reverend Kyle...i don't want to rain on your parade, but i have just been going through some maps....there is also another map of India that hasn't been posted on since late August...called Jewel of the Empire.

http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15181

Maybe we should also try to contact Contrickster on Jewel of the Empire.

What do you think? Coleman.

That's a good catch. It may be wise to send him a pm. I guess I'll do so.

I still say that Lack or Andy (whoever has proper access) should send along an email to Contrickster before anything is done. So, either kyle should send a PM to one of them or cairnswk/coleman talk to Andy. Every effort should be given to contact them before anything is done.

I haven't pmed lack yet, because I've been wanting to know if that would be taboo to ask lack to email them from a CA or Andy.
