CC has been running for 3 months now and I have yet to read a pm that wasn't sent to me. Not because I don't have the balls, rather because I have ethics. It would also be very bad public relations if conqies knew that CC staff were reading their messages. We want to built trust with the community, not the other way around!

Now having said that, I agree that we're doing a poor job of enforcing rule #2 (secret alliances). Rule #1 (multiple accounts) violations are fairly easy to prove. Rule #2 is grey and harder to prove. This is actually what I'm focusing on right now, and I hope to roll out a solution in the near future.

As for secret alliances, I'm not even sure it's at all your responsibility to concern yourself with this. People enter games in good faith, and sometimes they get screwed over by cheaters, but that's the breaks and it happens to everyone.

It's great that you have those alliance rules posted for all to see (must be posted in chat), but as there are no cash awards or anything for highest rank scores, nobody is really being damaged (aside from egos) by these low-life cheaters.

I have played well over 100 games and never had one pm as you describe. I propose that the folks sending them see the method in which you play and assume you would be open to their offers...god knows it wouldn't surprise me. You are the ONE player on this site I refuse to ever play with again. If you are feeling riped (ripped?) off, I for one would be happy to send you $20 to leave the site and never come back.

Your modus operendi however would be to take the money then enter as many of my games as you could in order to spread a liberal amount of your particular variety of ill will.

The best way to control (read: stop) cheaters is to publish their names and then refuse to play with them. If you get a pm asking you to cheat, publish that info in the game chat so we all know who it is that wants to do this. It takes at least two to create a secret alliance. The second one involved has the opportunity to prevent the cheating initially and then to prevent the cheater from having a chance to do it again. Eventually, those that want to cheat will have no one to play with and they will go away -- and, the sooner the better.

I realize this may be an idealistic approach to this problem. It's been my experience, as limited as it is, that the vast majority of the people in here are pretty good folks that just want to play the game and have fun. That being true, it seems as a group, we can eliminate this problem by getting the perpetrators out in the public eye.

Like I said in another post (I don´t remember where or when) the money that you are paying is a insignificant quantity for a lot of job. I love Risk game, I have seen a lot of Risk on line and I think without doubt that this is the best. I don´t know how in hell can a normal man to prevent that nobody betwen a mountain of people do fucking secret alliances. Can you to distinguish a secret alliance of just two or moore players playing against the strongest power at the board at the moment? And what is the sense of secret alliances if, at last only a player can win. Do you trust in somebody allied with you? What is the fucking sense of all this? Why cannot just play and have some fun?

McDonald's has an obligation to provide for security as a reasonable person would - that doesn't mean keeping you 100% safe, but it does mean doing what they reasonably can. If you walk in there and two dudes who have been loitering by the counter watching the thickness of everyone's wallet for 20 minutes haven't been taken care of, that's McDonald's fault.

And it's not sue-happy people that make the situation the way it is in the U.S., it's the fact that civil suits are decided by juries and not judges. Don't blame the people - it's why I can't really blame holders - the system gives them an incentive.
