Vote no lynch

If we're not going to lynch someone, I'd rather not lynch someone now rather than later, so I think going with a no lynch tonight would be a decent enough idea.

Fair enough, I just said we need to do something because it's kind of a boring game. But we do need a lynch today at some point.

It's been so long since I've actually seen someone vote no lynch that I kinda forgot about it... A no lynch is not good for the town, especially on day 1. In the beginning the town always has a numbers advantage, so even if we choose poorly it's not that big of a deal. And if we don't lynch today, 2 things happen: 1) we get no info for tomorrow, 2) the scum get a kill ahead tonight. Very rarely does a townie vote no lynch.

I know I'm kinda new, but this makes little sense to me. If you have the greater number of townies, you are more likely to lynch town than mafia. So given that, why is a higher chance of losing 2 townies in one night "not that big of a deal?" And how is that not worse than only one dying?

The important thing on day 1 is getting information by who's voting to lynch who, and how often. That's often worth accidentally lynching a townie day 1, although the objective is obviously to lynch the scum.
