btw the 2 vigilantes (GTand PCM really did target each other that night as strange as that may sound.

I gave the priest in the game a kind of resurection role where they had a 1 in 6 chance of raising up the player of their choice that had died from the previous night or lynch.

The Presidents were immune to night kills except by the assasin
Converters became masons with a player that they recruited. If they recruited a "Foreign power" they lost their power the next day from the effort it took to get them to their side. If they picked a player from the other side or a SK they died.

Master recruiters(The president) did not lose the turn the next day from getting a foreign power as they would be extra skilled at diplomacy. If they targetted a member of the opposing side they would lose their recruiting power the next day and if they had picked the assassin for the other side they would've died.

Townies got an extra power once they were recruited by a side. Each side started with one "plain" soldier that got his day power on day 2 as I didn't want any quick deaths from a trigger happy player on day 1. Hence why only one side had the day vigilante.

Woohoo! Well done Kwan & Mgoop =) Can't believe we won after the shitty first days  I played like crap protecting AD then getting hated by the natives :P

Good game as usual LSU, I was wondering if the battles were really random or you used it as a mean to balance the sides?

It was actually both. I ran on random.org an integer generator between 1 and 7. If the last number had been 7 then there would've been no deaths. Whatever the last number was wound up having the people that chose that number dying in the battle scene. I did exclude the two presidents from dying via battle mode as they would've have actually been fighting. Looking back I probably shouldn't have had the assassin involved in that either though.

In regards to using that to try to make both sides even up, I figured that it was more likely the side with more men would lose more in the battle to keep the game interesting for both sides as going into the last day scene we had 2 union, 1 confederate, 1 indie role, and 1 sk.

The independent nations/plain townies had a 2 fold win condition. If they were recruited they would've had to have their side win the war. If they weren't recruited then they had the win condition of "survivor"

Just like in real life the South started out strong, but was unable to substain it for the entire war.

One reason the Union won, is that they were a lot more succesful at recruiting.

In night one, I attempted to recruit Dustn, since it was fairly clear he was a townie or independent nation. Unfortunately, he also was approached by the Union, and he chose their side. This is why I later lead the lynch against him for lying about his townie role, since I knew for a fact he had become Union.

In night two, I recruited Huckleberryhound, cause I thought he was third party too. Instead, he turned out to be President Davis. This could have let to great things, since we could now coordinate our recruiting efforts, but unfortunately some freaking native shot me off my horse the following night, and Huck got lynched (this is also why I spoke out against the first bandwagon against him).

In night three, I recommended Huck to recruit Spurgistan, thinking that he would take Confederacy over the Union, as we were still seemingly ahead by then. Unfortunately, Spurgistan too preferred to go Union.

In other words, everybody who had a choice between both factions chose Union. If that hadn't happened, Confeds would probably have won.

Well done, AD, for being our last man standing!

By the way, I'd like to know if the Union recruiter died trying to recruit me. I dropped a hint about being recruitable in reply to AD's accusations, hoping that the Union recruiter would fall for it.

The next night, he died trying to recruit a Confed, but I don't know which one. I hope it was me :)

congrats everyone. i really thought I had the game with my lincoln claim. I had forgotten that I had rekilled MM and thought that the real lincoln would be to scared to come out so I could easily win the next night.

Good game everyone. This was really fun thanks for setting it up LSU.

Hah the president roles were really the thing that swayed the game. If you have someone who can avoid getting lynched as President, their side is pretty much gonna win.

It was painful to watch HBH getting lynched the day after I died. That was really the day and night the game was decided, I think.
