wow, the colors are much better, they give it much more of a sandy look... You might want to make the parchment for the key, or the black glow around the letters darker because it is har to see some of it.

Kyle. Never thought you'd make a good map, but it looks very good. :D

yes. I was very surprised that the update he posted in the time in between your posts did not address this comment.

Hi I'm a friend of kyle's from real life, I don't play here anymore and really only played like 2 games, but he asked me to post this here for him because of his ban.

Image

What I did here was
a. I addressed the issue of the thick nile and thinned it, but also tried to keep it wild and rugged so as to look like a river.
b. I made the opacity on the legend 100% I don't like it as much though.

Is this an upgrade or downgrade?

much much better now, its actully starting to look like an egyptian map.

1. i love the title

2. the pyramids pic is great

3. i like white of the terr names now

4. colours are better, dont think any change is necessary, unless maybe a future revamp

5. the legend font is beautiful, but the parchment its on is the only thing that is making me grate my teeth. just doenst look good, it just looks half-ass compared to the rest of the legend

6. i think u need a couple more bridges, or if that idea is over done then perhaps some tiny boats in the nile to represent crossways, kinda like seafaring across the river

1. Why is Memphis so far north?

2. Why so many Arabic names if it's ancient?

3. Did Kyle get the leaky inflate a date I mailed him from Autoload's palace?

u Should change the font in the legend also.. That Font Works For A Title (Large And Dominant) But for the legend it should be Clear and easy to read like the Map names... The Title Should Stand alone with a unique font compared to the board & you should make the Drop shadow Smaller not as Foggy... Make it so it looks like the letters themselves are causing a Light Shadow _ OR _ Bold the Font of the letters with a thicker stroke.. otherwise its coming along Nicely

here's a little feedback about this image in no specific order.

1. the nile looks too artificial. the things about it that look bad are the end zone in Busris. it looks like somebody cut the river there. it's not a natural way for a river. make it fade. same about the delta. it looks again very unnatural. too geometric.

2. white spots around the map. so many i'm not even going to start saying where they are. white random spots that hurt the eye.

3. terit size. some terits are really tiny they won't even fit the army circles in this version which is the large one. imagine what they would look like in a small version. look at abu simbel, soleb, semna, memphis, buto, rosetta and a bunch of other terits.

4. legend. it looks really bad. that parchment is very disturbing. instead of that parchemnt pethaps try to make it as a slab of ston with carved text on it.

5. borders. they look a bit blurry and in some places they are too dark. like the soleb area or in some parts of the nile.

6. gameplay-borders. to me it seems like a bad gameplay because most continents have lots of borders. basically the only holdable continent is sinai and perhaps west desert the other are very hard because they have 4 borders each. i'd split E. Cairo in 2 smaller continents and also the delta in 2 continents. bacause at this stage if you manage to get sinai you win since all the other continents are hard to hold and you'd be the only one with a border. then slowly crawl into the delta and take it. rather easy since nobody goes for such a big continent. then you'll have the delta and sinai with 3 borders and +9

7. gameplay bonuses. sinai is 2 and west desert is also 2 but one has 1 border and the other has 3. bad.

Kyle wanted me to..well you know the drill.

Things I addressed in this update.

1. Names and time period. I got them from another source and it didn't quite say time period, I also moved some around to put countries where I couldn't quite stretch it, if there is a specific one that bothers you put an old name and a new name and i'll fix it.. otherwise finding a new source and redoing all of it is way too much work.

2. Yes 2dimes I got the delivery.

3. Game play. I deleted a couple countries which I believe brings me down to 42 countries which is great. I may be off.. I didn't recount. Also I added a desert. Haven't updated bonuses, but am thinking 3 for W. Cairo and 4 for Menia.

4. Borders, I've gone through and I believe fixed this problem, I think DiM's LCD browser is alot of the problems because even zoomed in at 450% I still don't see alot of the problems he lists, and this has been a problem on Eastern Front by qwert also.

5. Legend I've reduced the opacity again, It still sticks out I think. I'm having huge problems with this but think the stone will stick out the same way.

6. White spot should be all gone.

7. I fixed some of the territory size by getting rid of territories, and am looking for ways to remedy the others.

8. Unnatural Nile, looking for a way to fix this I really don't want to have to redraw it. Trying to find a quick fix like maybe making banks for the territory or something like that.

I haven't even begun to rework on the legend, this update was mostly focused on borders and the nile.

Hi,
It looks like this map was copied from the Egyptian Kingdom map from the game Lux Delux. You do not have permission to copy this map.

Actually I think you're wrong. You can't copyright the geography of Egypt, but you can copyright a map. A map involves original artwork, and in this case it also involves copyrightable gameplay.

I will say that most of the maps that are playable or in process at CC seem to have a Lux counterpart, and they copy us as often as we copy them. For instance, I just went through their maps for the first time in two years and saw that a Chinese Checkers map went up last month. What's important is making the board layout and gameplay original, and NEVER stealing somebody's artwork.

In this case the artwork is different, but there are map layout features such as Memphis and the radiating rivers that look quite similar.

Most of their maps look like crap anyway, so who'd want to steal?

Reverend_Kyle....is the legend font small in size than the tert font.
Perhaps make the legend font a bit bigger and stronger...the names kind of look a bit washed out against the blue and cream.
The cream regions look quite bare also, are you planning anything for them....perhaps a texture of some kind?

Meh. Similarities is not solid enough to justify the claim of "copying" the map. The whole continent bonuses are different, as well as how the whole of the western front is set-up.
