Master list

Post by SMITH197 »

So this quote by lack "I should post a list somewhere." got me to thinking....could we get a searchable database of confirmed cheaters? Just a thought and it'd be something good to discuss the pros and cons...

Yeah I think a locked post would work the best then you can just edit it when new cheaters are found.

I already have the cheaters in a database, over 200 records. It would have to be a paginated page like the scoreboard. Maybe it wouldn't be a menu item but just hyperlinked in the Rules page and in a sticky in this forum.

Or maybe there shouldn't be list, but on your profile it will show who you are permanently banned from playing with?

Put it in their profile that way if you have a question about someone you can always check their profile and see if it is someone you want ot play with.

But a list isnt a so good idea, because only a few players visit the forum. I think their names should have a signal, like a red * in the end. So, if we see a cheater joining our games, we can drop it, isolating these bad guys and preventing them of taking points from the honorable players.

Hmm, a red *? Maybe a little word, like "CHEATER" after his names. Or "!!!CHEATER!!!"... Well, the important is they are easily identified.

I agree with Marv that there should be a red asterisk (*) after the person's name indicating that the person was convicted of cheating in the past. But that is not enough.

The details of the cheating are important, and all cheating incidents should be permanently etched onto that player's profile (props to Moz) for others to look up - similar to a criminal record. That way each person can make a determination of the cheating incident.

Personally, I would like to distinguish between someone who was caught cheating with a friend the first week he/she signed up, and a person who admits in the Game Chat that he/she is out to max up their score.

Hopefully this wouldn't be tough for Lack to do and it offers the best of everyone's suggestions.
