I dont know what NIST says was the temperature in those holes but theres half a dozen pictures of live people waving T-shirts and paper trying to get recognized for a rescue, so it couldnt have been more than the temperature to melt hair.

The NIST is also clear to point out that people were only seen in one of the holes of the Twin Towers, not the other. They figured the other hole the tempratures had already killed everyone.

The public was lead to believe that the towers PANCAKED on top of each floor. The majority of the public has been misinformed over this. All they have to do is read the NIST website and they will see that the NIST does not support the pancake theory.
