but diplomacy sounds fun.
it's simple, it runs like a mafia game but everyone knows there all SKs. In the day there will be a lynch like usual. Then everyone sends in their kills and the most killed dies.
I have also a few other ideas.
1) a guardian: a things which stands in one place. It does nothing except if someone gets adjacent to it, it randomly either attacks, defends or does nothing. 2 hit points
2) a wild animal: if anyone comes adjacent to it(and no-one knows where it is) it awakes and moves in random directions and like the guardian randomly does something.
3) CC maps. Like in my spamalot battle royale you could play on interesting maps suchas Siege! in my game

Almost sounds like a Warhammer-type game you're describing there. Now that would be interesting, to play Warhammer over the forums, but it would SUCK to mod.
Actually, you could play any tabletop game if you just make an overhead map with a distance scale.

Meh. You could play chess but I doubt anyone would want to.

I wasn't talking about that kind of tabletop game, but yes you could.

BR seems to be quite popular, perhaps we may make it as advanced as mafia, perhaps there could be roles
I thought about it the other day, there could be pre determined weapons that work differently too... And ability to steal weapons from the dead, I always thought it was cool in the books/movies
And also this idea:
A person can flee. During the move phase he chooses to move two times. He moves one during move phase and then gives up his attack/defense to move again.

I agree.

These BRs look like mad good fun, but at the moment they are seemingly arbitrary affairs where everybody just shambles about randomly twatting each other without much in the way of strategy.
I liked Iliad's idea of using the Siege map, but it made me think:
1. Ought there be some purpose to heading to other areas of the map that isn't simply avoiding other players? Some kind of pickups hidden in various squares etc, that'd add some extra strategy to movement, either go scrap for a pickup, or hide away from the pain and hope it doesn't provide too great an advantage. It'd also be fun to see who could figure out where pickups were likely to be hidden (Siege is a good map for that actually now I think).
Would it even be feasible to give certain squares advantages when attacking to other squares (i.e. on the Omaha Beach map attacking out of a bunker is somehow easier than attacking in) or to grant bonuses to players who take idle turns on them (some kind of healing square that lets you get a life back if you don't move, and/or defend/attack for example)
Perhaps like in the real BR each player should be randomly assigned a weapon, and have the option of switching it for a downed players weapon if they make a kill. Differentiating the weapons a little could make for some fun strategy decisions, i.e. do you try to rush powerful players to nick the weapon, or do you run the hell away from them and hope they get brought down by more intrepid combatants.
What do you reckon?

I do like the idea of unique weapons. It seems like it would add a layer of variety and strategy to the game, as long as you take care to keep them balanced.
Here's a list of weapon abilities you could have:
-a longer attack range
-do more damage
-attack more than one person (at the cost of lower damage done)
-have defensive items (maybe a 2-slot inventory?)
-expendable items (grenades, guns that run out of bullets)
-weapons that cause status ailments (being able to not move for a turn, doing less damage the next turn).
There's just a ton of cool things you could do with it.
Oh, and another idea for a game: a BR-style zombie survival game where you work together against a wave of Mod-controlled zombies.
