I guess if you refuse to pay the money, then you should just stick to playing Speed games, or don't complain when someone stops playing right away. I'm not trying to be a hard ass, it's just common sense, don't get annoyed about it when you can prevent it from happening to you no what i mean...
yeah, that's understandable...it happens but it's obvious when all of the sudden someone stops playing cause they get a bad roll. i'd rather finish out then stall and try to win some in the mean time because it will be more points deducted for the loss.
i know i can go and play speed games but i don't like speed games too much. i just wish people would quit being babies and finish the games.
every 1 vs 1 game I type in " no real time" because every player thinks a 1 vs 1 is real time. there is no such term as "unspoken real time". If a player moves 2 or 3 turns real time, he should be permitted to move his next turn within 24 hours without losing a turm. The outcome of the rounds does not matter. Play speed games.

Exactly. If the game wasn't set up to be real time and nobody agreed to real time, then even if a few rounds are real time that doesn't mean the rest of the game will be, or even should be.
I wish people would quit being babies and stop making threads like these...
it's a general discussion. i'm not a baby but it's a part of the game i think others experience and is worthy to discuss. a speed game is a lot of pressure in case something comes up and you do have to leave the game. it's just obvious when people start stalling out when they are losing.
also...don't reply to this thread if you don't like it.

It may be obvious as a tendency if you encounter this often. But it never can be obvious in one specific game. It might always be coincidence. I frequently play nearly realtime in 1-1 games, but as I never commit to realtime explicitly I will leave as soon as I don't have time anymore without a goodby. If I received negative feedback for that, just because by coincidence it was a point in the game where I was loosing I'd be fairly pissed off.
I can understand your frustration a bit, but I think you should just laugh about those silly people wo prefer to lose slowly and painfully!
Maybe some of you are missing the point too. Situations where someone has 2 armies left and they are still online playing a bunch of other games and wait 24 hours to take a turn is kind of ridiculous. Not against rules, but against common courtesy.

I fully agree in that case it's ridiculous! Still I'd just laugh about them. Although if I just had 4 slots to play I might not be so amused.
