make the names of the planets more visible, people with bad eyes/blindness will likely have a hard time seeing them

Should I also make them a different color, or do you think keeping them white will be easy enough to differentiate between planet names and territory names?

the title looks like some type of copy protection watermark. and I think that staring into the sun on this map is giving me a headache...it sure is the mother of all focal points, and unfortunately distracts the eye from the other graphics on the map, which I am sure you worked hard on.

im not sure, maybe you added like a spacey glow around them you would be able to tell difference but i think the size of the font is the give away easily.

i agree with mibi on both issues. move the sun to somewhere it isnt the focal point or make it part of the map perhaps. and you should be able to fit Spaceness in somewhere

The issue with the sun has been brought up before - it was one of the first posts (of course the sun was MUCH brighter then). But, according to his posts - that's the focus that the mapmaker wants.

What if instead of having the sun in the middle I made the title of the map glow more brightly in its place?

Well I wanted the sun in the middle so that the lighting would all be consistent, so I think making the words in the middle glow brightly would still be good, especially since so many people have complained about the sun. I mean hey, if this gets quenched I'm going to be looking at it a lot less than other people are, right?

I never actually comment this map because I wanted to see his evolution before I posted my ideas/comments.

I think this map is a mess, it's to crowded.
When I look at it I don't get the feeling 'Wow, this is outer space and it looks awesome'.

1)I think the arrows don't belong in this map, try something else...(laser beam?

2)The names are porely placed, I don't know how it can look better...maybe don't make the names just white...add some effects to it?
3)the ness bombard spots are to big and they aren't centered, the cross isn't in the middle of the circle. They are to bright, make them a little transparent maybe...
4) The name of your map isn't readable on my screen, the map is to dark and now it sais 'Aceness'
5) I don't get the light in the map...the bright flash in the middele is a sun?
because the light on Praetos is to straight if the light comes from the middle...It had to be more to the south, same goes for Halo.

I hear all those arguments. The only issue I have with them is (of course) that correcting them means a total reconstruction of the map. I'm not even sure that I disagree that that may be needed...
One issue you had that I regret being there is the way the middle looks. Originally there was a star there that made the lighting look decent on the planets, and looked realistic by itself, but too many people complained that it was hurting their eyes, so I had to reduce it to what you see now.
It's hard for me to say that I'm going to completely scrap something I've put so much effort into for so long (relatively speaking I guess), so I'm not sure I want to do that...
Argh.

Good so far - but, here's what I see.

1) The effect that you use on "One Way Attack" in the legend is the one you should apply to the title. Will still be dark - but the visibility will be VASTLY improved.

2) You do need to add some small effect to the planet names - just so they stand out from the terr names.

3) Praetos and Spaceness definitely crowd each other. Move the entire Praetos planet up and to the left a few pixels [that will also help the attack path from Skwinnt to Urrn]. Only move the Praetos label 1 pixel up. Shrink the Spaceness label size by 10%.

4) All planet tags need to use the same font - Omicron is smaller than everything else. Seeing as how you should be adding some effect to the names, they should all use the smaller Omicron font [less crowding of the map]
