I like the space border too, but for the HyperCUBE it IS too busy.

The space works with The CUBE and The CUBOID but for the HyperCUBE it will be much better with the grey background.

Is this agreed?
Or... Should we need to vote about this?

As requested but without increased army circles.
Do you people think it is nesseseary with increased army cirles :?:
Aerial Attack wrote:You need to increase the size of your army circles.

Right now everything fits nicely - but you are testing with 18 (as your largest number width wise) and you need to test with 88

I wonder if I should split up this thread in 3 new ones? One for each cube?

I don't have an opinion as to what the background should be, but I feel it needs something... the flat background removes the illusion of 3Dness that makes these maps so cool.

Ok, I'm all for another background - IF - anyone can suggest one that might work. Preferably with an included picture.

stuff

Unit2 is clearly trying to give me a stroke... damn!

Anyway, background ideas...

something to enhance the sense of depth, thats not too flashy...

deep sea maybe? could have a piece of seaweed floating into the
cube-azoid...

or a quieter star field then the ones that people didn't like...

You could probably go with a snow covered mountainscape, but you would have to reconsider all the white bits. But that would still end up being too busy I think...

If you want to go with humor, how about a collection of ice trays? Ice cubes, get it? hehehe...

Anyway, I'll keep an eye out on the web for anything that might work... good luck in the meantime, this is too cool a map to have to wait too long...

You are not serious are you?
We are trying to find a LESS busy background than the stars background.
Cool pics though. I like the one where the dots change color from white/black.

I know we try to dodge copyright issues, but it would be cool if we could find an image from Clive Barkers Hell Raiser... the cude that is the gate to hell! How appropriate...

anychance you could use something like this, and have the snake come thru the cube towards us, without obscuring game-related images?

no chance. try to find something less busy and not going through the cube. The HyperCUBE is busy enough as it is... We dont want people getting brain tumors from trying to play it :D

The problem is, it shouldn't be flat... even if not going thru, it needs to wrap to some degree around the bottom and sides... not easy to find...

Can you guys stop fussing? Let it be a grey background.

It is the least interferance with the game structure.

With a grey background you can see what you are playing, with any other color or background you can not.

Believe me. I have tried like 10-15 different backgrounds now. And it does not help. It has to be grey to work with a 4*4*4 map at all.

Please stop fussing so we can get this map into play instead.
