Obviously if people get upset enough to leave to Negative feedback, it's not as harmless as you want to believe.

It might not cause physical damage, but it certainly reduces the amount of enjoyment other players get, and that seems harmful enough to me.

Besides, if that kind of behavior is your idea of fun, they always have Flame Wars; at least you know the people there are into it...

I see nothing wrong with cursing personally, I think everyone does once in a while to exert some frustration or even to spice up a sentance lol ( It's not awesome, but "******* AWESOME" LOL. Some people probably don't want to hear it, if there was some sort of voluntary censor I think it would be better but there isn't, so I guess it's more a matter of knowing who you have to hold your tongue around and if you don't know them, hold it anyways.

If you encounter someone who uses language you find objectionable in the game chat? Just put them on your ignore list for the duration of play and you won't even see it.
"The Rules" say that trash talking the opposition is ok, which I believe includes cussing. Considering the fact that many players don't receive feedback for the majority of games played, IMHO you don't like their chat vocabulary? Give 'em a neutral and write up all the details, but checking a player's negs only to discover they got it for cussing is kind of pathetic, just let it go.If they are a poor sport and cuss you out? that's a completely different thing.

There are so many lame reasons negative feedbacks are given like; he cided on me, he wouldn't let me win, he sed dum stuff in chat or used bad werds, that it's hard to even take feedbacks seriously. It all becomes a bunch of petty belly achin' crap after awhile.

If red cards were given out in the World Cup as easily as the negs are here, there would be no players on the pitch.

I would like to hear the rationale behind all these players who think foul language is worth a negative. In simpler terms, why does cussing deserve a neg?

How liberal is Conquer Club's stance? I'm in a game a while back when a total idiot, who wasn't even in the game, posts to the chat 2007-09-29 13:57:47 - rylesc: "dr tony suks cok", which might be neg worthy even though it is vulgar slang and not cussing... but rylesc wasn't in our game and couldn't receive feedback. Thinking this might qualify as harassment I submitted an e-ticket, but the response from Moz stated that what he did wasn't against the rules and was therefore ok.

(1) Trash talking can be a fun element of a game. I do not personally believe profanity is a required (or more to the point 'fun') element to trash talking. As such, I don't feel the acceptance of one requires the acceptance of the other.

(2) Foul language, per se, is not worth a negative from me. A player has a bad series of dice, or misplaces his armies and says 'f*ck'. No big deal. Profanity aimed at someone however, comes only from the urge to insult and/or irritate; how someone who has done so can complain when he succeeds in his goal baffles me, but they do.

(3) How liberal is CC? Pretty darn liberal, but liberal doesn't apply only to a players actions, it applies to a persons right to respond with a negative feedback. Swearing isn't illegal, neither is complaining about it. Pretty darn liberal... Feedback has no OFFICIAL clout, its only impact is that other players may choose not to play with you. While I admit, many a jerk wad WANTS an unsuspecting audience, so they can get attention for playing with their own doodie, but personally I don't feel they have the right to demand people not warn others. Open, liberal, fair.

As to your random grafitti artist, he may be immune to your feedback, but you can ignore him (or her) and that's worth a lot.
