Unit, try downloading Gimp. It won't get your map through unless your really patiant but people will take it seriously and it doesn't cost £200

im pretty sure he already has gimp, when looking through some of his maps he used the standard gimp textures in them.

They have a friendly map making community who are less concerned about nit picking and such.

You have a much better chance of getting map into live play there.
