It's ok, Norse. Both major candidates have pledged themselves to not allowing immigrants in. No matter what happens, you won't have to live with any "leeching, work-shy, long term useless bastards" seeking a better life.

No chance at all. The major ones are Labor and Liberal, and Labor has the greatest chance of getting in (change FTW). So sick of John Howard, as are many people.

Norse - John Howard refuses to apologise to the Aboriginal people for the things White Australians did to them for the past 200 years. He won't hold a referendum to allow something on the constitution for the Aboriginals, blah blah blah etc etc.

Many of us are not voting Socialist.. Where did you get that idea? Labor isn't Socialist, Liberal aren't Socialist, Greens, Democrats, Nation-One, blah blah blah. I haven't heard about a major Socialist electorate for, ever.

From what I have heard about the land reforms/benefit system it favours the abo's "drink and wander" lifestyle. They should be content.

And no, John Howard did not single-handedly persecuted against Aborigines, but as Prime Minister for 11 years or so, I'm pretty sure it's time he apologised on behalf of Australia, as other Prime Ministers have done so.

Because we totally fucked up their lives. It doesn't matter if we weren't there, they are still discriminated against. They're still trying to have a foothold in society, even if it doesn't look like it. Their traditions are keeping them back, no offence, but they'll keep to those traditions because White Australians weren't around them.

And sure it would be. I'll gladly do it, but it wouldn't make a difference to the women that were raped because they wouldn't trust men like before.

It wouldn't make a difference no, because rape victims want the perpetrator to pay. Every race has been discriminated against throught history, so why is it only the 'whites' that have to apologise for it? How is anyone supposed to move when everything is "your ancestors did that and this"? I've experienced racist acts towards me, where's my apology for it?

No offense guys but in my experience racism in Australia is fairly rife, particularly outside of the cities; Howard cynically exploited this.

So if Howard is not a racist, he is perhaps worse as he uses racism to fulfill his personal and political ambition.
