I wish to respond to the first 2 posts, organising and running a tournament is a tough task - it is extra tough when its a league with so many games involved.casper wrote:when does the next round start and is it the same teams? e.g. THOTA vs EWL just on different maps?
sorry but terrible information / organization / record keeping on this one so far imo.
What the hell is this. Check out the first page. There is a chart which contains all the results recorded so far along with an indication of when other games will be played. underneath that is a league table incorporating all those results and underneath that a list of latest scores and upcoming matches. I trust that you can read?....look for your benefit I'll copy and paste it herecasper wrote:when does the next round start and is it the same teams? e.g. THOTA vs EWL just on different maps?

The whole point of restricting maps is quite simple even for you to understand.nephilim wrote:so what's the word on the allowed/disallowed maps? and whether the games we've mentioned have been officially forfeited? and what happened to our perfect score against EWL on the first page?

ok no problem, you think this is bullshit eh? well then go and organise your own league, I will ask DW to replace you with someone who wants to playcasper wrote:ok i saw the league table... each game doesn't count in the standings? that's b.s. in theory a team that wins 9 games and loses 7 games every round (81-63 overall record) would win the tourney over a team that goes 16 and 0 every round except for one 7 win 9 loss round (135-9 overall record)? ghey.

I didn't see this until after I posted because you only put that up a few days ago!yorkiepeter wrote: What the hell is this. Check out the first page. I have a legitimate question about how this will be scored because you never posted anything about it until a few days ago. Do you not see my point? I just don't see the point of every team playing 16 games per round for them to not count in the scoring. Maybe it is an American vs. British thing. From my point of view, a win as a win like in baseball, not as a "goal" like in football. As I said before your tables were not up until recently and you hadn't posted any info on the scoring prior to that.yorkiepeter wrote:ok no problem, you think this is bullshit eh? well then go and organise your own league, I will ask DW to replace you with someone who wants to playcasper wrote:ok i saw the league table... each game doesn't count in the standings? that's b.s. in theory a team that wins 9 games and loses 7 games every round (81-63 overall record) would win the tourney over a team that goes 16 and 0 every round except for one 7 win 9 loss round (135-9 overall record)? ghey.

so what sort of dumb question is thisThis is for teams of minimum 8 players only. Each team will play home and away 16 games against each other team.
Only players who are registered here may play.
Home team will choose all 16 maps. pm them to me and i will create them. Once created You will have 1 week to join them all and send to your opposing captain. Your opponents will then have 1 week to get all games active.
Now this is the way I am scoring my tournament, if you think its wrong go off and create your own instead of giving me earachecasper wrote:when does the next round start and is it the same teams? e.g. THOTA vs EWL just on different maps?

I don't know about american baseball. So letschoose some sports that we both know about.
Tennis. Suppose roger federer wins every round of the us open, 6-0,6-0,6-0 and gets to the final where he plays this guy who won all his games narrowly. If he wins federer narrowly too will federer say, its not fair i won more games and sets throughout so i should be champion. I think not.
What about the Ryder Cup? suppose its all square with the singles to play and the americans win 5 singles 8 & 7 and the europeans win 7 on the last hole...who wins? the Americans? cos they won more actual holes? I think not.
And while we are about it how the hell am I supposed to publish a league table before any results are in?
this has been there all the time though

ithota joined all their games, if ewl didn't then thota will be awarded the win.David_Wain wrote:1248174 still needs to be filled....
9-2 overall
unfortunately 4 other games weren't filled within a week so have been automatically dropped.... Yorkie any chance these 4 can be recreated?? sorry for the inconvenience not sure what happened on EWL's end.

sorry but i wrote this while taking wain's turns when he was on vacation, didn't even realize i wrote it under his name til just now. sorry wain for getting you on rebelman's bad side and sorry to rebelman for the confusion; uhhhh, ya you have no business speaking for anybody especially when you seem to not understand the problemDavid_Wain wrote:did someone ask you to give your opinion?
look man, i have not flamed anyone in quite a while here.....i'm simply trying to understand the rules of the tourney.....and i repeat, some of them are absolutely unclear. casper mentioned the scoring. but as for the maps you have to understand:yorkiepeter wrote:The whole point of restricting maps is quite simple even for you to understand.nephilim wrote:so what's the word on the allowed/disallowed maps? and whether the games we've mentioned have been officially forfeited? and what happened to our perfect score against EWL on the first page?

There are people on this site who specialize in certain maps and are almost unbeatable. All maps are welcome i n moderation, but I do not want teams fielding 16 pearl harbour maps for example. If you really want to include 2 or 3 then fine.
exactly what am i not allowed to do? i just want to play a fair game. we're supposed to pick a home court and you very shadily disallowed me from doing so. is it simply that i'm not allowed to say so?yorkiepeter wrote: You can both consider yourselves on a warning anymore and I will suspend you for the next match
Thanks for that mate, glad someone appreciates it. Your next game is away to LOD, the games have already been created, just waiting for LOD to finish joining themstevieQ wrote: I thought I saw you say somewhere you enjoyed this yorkie? Just send me a PM whenever the next round is set up and I'll get my team signed up for it.
