NHL League Season 2

Since the first season was such a success and the playoffs are just about underway, I've decided to run another season of hockey, conquer club style.

I am allowing my current team owners to carry forward their teams, they just need to let me know that they want to keep playing. I will give them until Christmas to let me know, after that we are having a boxing day sale on available teams. Any new team will not be able to pick the same map as another team in their division and I am banning World 2.1 as a map of choice.

There will be some changes to the rules this season, I am going to change the fortifications to chained. There will now be Wins, Loses, and Overtime Loses. You get a win and 2 points if you win the game, you get a lose and 0 points if you lose the game before 12 rounds are finished, you get an overtime lose if you lose the game after 12 rounds are finished.

Games will be created every second sunday, with about 10 games for every team, some might get more and some might get less. Since it takes 2 weeks for a game to disappear this should be enough time and few enough games that even non-premies can join all of their games. I will not be remaking games. If you don't join within the 2 weeks and your game disappears it will be considered a lose.

I will also not be sending out e-mails letting you know what games are yours and their passwords, I will send out an e-mail to you letting you know that the games are ready and instructions on how to find your games and how to figure out the password.

The first puck will drop in the new year. I hope to hear from a lot of you, especially the people who already in the first season.

Okay, so let me get this straight, the new season doesn't start until at least January 1st? If that is the case, I might be tempted.......I just do so badly in the 1 vs 1 games these days.

Should I or shouldn't I?

killer619: first of all, yes you can have the avalanche if Optimus chooses not to continue on, second all games are chained, flat rate, and no fog of war, third you abandonded a team in the first season, If you join and leave again, I will leave negative feedback, and you will NOT be able to join one of my tournaments again.
Optimus, you know you want to be the northwest division whipping boy again. :lol:

denominator: When I have heard back from all of my team owners you will be one of the first to pick on the empty teams.

I too am trying to decide whether or not to sign back up. It has been an excellent season. I can't believe I lost a tie-breaker to decide the Eastern Conference #1 seed *sigh*.

I would like to pose an interesting question. Can I have a co-captain for the team? I got a little tired of playing so many 1 v 1 games on AoM (especially once I started losing a few). If you say that this is possible, with the updated schedule (about 10 games every 2 weeks) - I think I could handle it. I would take all the road games (so as not to always have the same map) and allow my co-captain to play the home games. Or we might find some other split - obviously the new home map would be one we would both have to agree on.

Well, spidey, I did some thinking about it and I need to find some training in 1 vs 1 before I jump into another big tournament like this again. I'll probably be around for Season 3 if it happens though.

I will willingly join Season 2 as the Dallas Stars, if they're available. If not, I'll take a reserve position, and fill in as needed. I'll reserve my map choice until I find out what's taken in whatever division I end up in...

Spidey would it be cool if keiths31 and I trade teams? Could I manage the Penguins and he manage the Sens? If that's cool I'm down for the trade. I would like to keep BeNeLuX / flat as my map tho.

yes i know i left. i jus needed a break from the tourney games. but i need points and im getting back into the tourney games. sry bout last season.

sensfan calm down. I wanted to be in the tourney for sure so I went with a trade. You however were not in season one so you had nothing to bring to the table. Plus this guy is a clanmate and friend.

The trade is done Spidey put keiths down for the Senators and me down for the Penguins.
