- Countries that have French as their official language. Now, Naps, alot of those countries seem to be in Africa. I didn't know that France was in Africa!! Oh wait, it isn't! Seems to me there must've been some immigration done a fair while ago by a whole lot of french people, and I think they must've started to make all the locals talk their language. I bet the locals wouldn't have liked all the white folk coming into their country and taking over, but hey, fair game right, Napoleon?

French have a long history of invading other countries and 'colonising' them, so who are you to complain if people from other countries decide to come and live in your backyard, so to speak? - Same goes for Norse in Britain to, and that's why anyone should be welcome here in Australia.

Anyone who wants to argue that on a whole european intervention has been a glorious thing for africa is making a rather bold supposition. Im not going to or perhaps be capable of saying that Africa could possibly be worse off because of Europe, but it certainly wasnt all peaches and cream as the logic in your post extended implies.

OK, ill play along here, Naps. Lets just say, that yes, they still would be in the Jungle. (the eating each other part is horse shit though) - what the f*ck would be wrong with that? Since when was Europe's take on Civilisation supposed to be the one that the whole world takes on? Oh wait, Europe invaded everywhere else that wasn't white.

They lasted 1000's of years without white intervention, all white's brought to the continent was a legacy of slavery.

I would disagree. All this civilization has left us with is a legacy of a dying and decaying planet. How could any form of living that degrades and destroys it's natural environment be considered superior?

Urm, your history is letting you down again. The Egyptian civilisation employed slavery in Africa around 3,000 BC or so, well before Europe was doing anything of note. If anything, slavery could be classified as an African invention!

How does it degrade it jake? Have you ever stoppd to think that there is no such thing as the artificial, only the natural? When an ape uses a crude stick to crush open a nut, that is natural. Just as natural as me using this computer as a tool. We're all products of nature.

I thought you were a somewhat smart man, Naps. I certainly would've though you would know the difference between a stick and a computer.
An ape using a crude stick that he found lying on the ground under a tree is a lot different to excavating a giant mine to bring up all the resources required to build, manufacture and then the amount of other resources (i.e oil and petroleum) to then ship the the parts to be put together and then shipped again to different countries around the world. The two don't compare. I can garauntee that the manufacture of the computer that you are using, the one that I'm using, and that everyone else here is using has had a negative impact on the Earth. Noone can deny that, and if they do, well.. they have a serious case of denial. Whereas the ape with the stick wouldn't have done anything at all to negativly impact on the environment.

Congratulations on refraining from answering the question quite effectively.

According to you, European powers were quite justified in colinising Africa, because it brang Africans to "Civilization". Ignoring the fact this this statement is fairly wrong, it is also quite hypocritical when coming from your mouth.
You spend a lot of time arguing against immigration because it is "degrading French culture", yet you ignore the fact that French immigration to Africa would have degraded their culture just as significantly, if not more so.
How can you classify yourself as an at least pseudo-thinking and hypocracy-free individual if you can claim that French culture-destruction is perfectly Ok, yet when anything even remotely touches French culture you campaign against it vigorously?

While I don't disagree with you, entirely, for once, I'm not quite sure what the distinction is between irrational fear and ignorance. They really go hand in hand, each feeding off the other. Prejudice feeds off ignorance - of course, you couldn't logically believe gay men pose a threat by their gayness to anybody if you actually knew a few, for example - but it is based on the fact that due to that ignorance, you are unlikely to meet an Arab and realize he probably won't rape you because SURPRISE you're scared shitless. Or take the example of bountiful America's Klansmen, who rode around in groups to terrify the local black populations because they were too scared that they were despoiling their wonderful hick blood. Fear is what motivates prejudice, ignorance leads to fear.

As a seperate post, nor is racism stupid. I know many racists (believing in a hierachy of races). They're damn clever people. I don't like their views, but when you look at it, there's no reasonto suppose that in the course of human evolution, the black race for example developed superior cerebral capacity than the white one, which may have say ended upwith a greater propensity to grow tall (random based examples, ot implying anything). Certainly, its been proved, for example, asians have a greater capacity to music than others. Similarily, differences exist between all races- not just at the epidermal layer. So racism is wrong. But certainly not stupid. What is stupid is based on this to discriminate against an indigineous race.

disclaimer --- as a Christian,I believe that although races are different, they are all equal.
of course, no one should suggest killing thousands of people, or slavery or anything based on this.
