Any way to limit chat to a few pre chosen messages in fog of war games?
I get tired of eliminating a players bonus only to have that player report to everyone, what I took, what I now hold, and the army number that he saw coming in. Maybe just a selection of ' Hi, GL", "GG" and "nice move" i'd like to see the feedback on this.....

feel free to add those players on ignore list if you don't like what they do, limiting chat would be wrong.

Not to call you out on your extreme lack of intelligence there Dim(wit) but all putting the offending player on ignore would do would be to keep me from seeing the announcements they make. The other players would STILL see the comments in game and the problem remains the same. Any one intelligent have some feedback?

i say give the guy negative feedback, because the point of FoW games is to not know where anyone is hiding. him announcing it ruins the point of fog games, which i feel deserves negative feedback, just like joining a team game and ignoring your teammates. its technically allowed, but not fun at all for the guys that it happens to.
Your suggestion makes perfect sense, mbohn2. Why should players have the ability to announce opponent army totals to all playing? It defeats the purpose of Fog of War.
Presumably, if the Fog is so heavy and chaos reigns supreme, access to communication would also be compromised. I say eliminate all chat entirely.
And I would assume there are those out there who would reply with: "But how will the other players work together to stop someone from becoming too powerful?" To which I would reply with the famous quote: "Go back and re-read."
I understand the problem and don't like it when people announce stats on my armies or moves. But I think the proposed solutions (limiting chat to private chats or eliminating altogether) would be worse than the problem. Limiting chat reduces the fun and community of the games.
I think announcing moves in FoW games should be something officially frowned upon by CC and people who do it should be condemned by the other players in the game and given negative feedback. It's similar to people who miss turns intentionally as part of strategy or suicide when they realize they can't win or have to leave the game early. It perverts the intentions of the game.

first of all i didn't say a single bad word to you so your insults show your lack of intelligence not mine.
now on to the problem at hand. a guy discloses your location. so what fight like a man and win consider it like the last troops sent a messenger to inform the others of your location.
if you don't like it then when the game is over you can put that guy on ignore and leave him a negative feedback to warn others. and since he's on ignore he won't be able to join your games.

team FoW chat could still be used, but any public messages would be blocked.
Much agreed, this would eliminate alot of FOW issues with those that are eliminated spilling te beans out of spite and others just killing the FOW spirit
