I don't understand most of this as I'm sure most non-Americans wouldn't. Does it translate to, I don't like doctors??btownmeggy wrote:If I was dying I would go to the hospital.
If I broke my arm, I would go to the hospital.
But I'm certainly not going to pay 30% of whatever it would cost for a doctor's visit so I could sit in line for hours and hours and then have an asswipe tell me, "Yep, looks like you hurt your toe. I'll have my racially subjugated nurse with a GED and 1 year of post-secondary education who makes approximately 5% of my annual income put a bandage on it for you. Good day!"
Now, if I broke my arm, I'd gladly pay the 30% of pre-approved medical expenses up to a maximum annual deductible of, well let's just say an amount that is approximately half my annual income, excluding rehabilitation, prescriptions, etc etc et al.
Well you can argue that legacy of communism is doing it's job in our (Croatian) case...heavycola wrote:COMMUNIST!ignotus wrote:So much for a health care in the most advanced and democratic nation in the world.![]()

I know. It pains me that I understand it. It means that I have medical insurance, a good thing, yes. However, despite this, I can't afford to go to the doctor, especially for minor things like a broken toe. Despite my medical insurance, I have to pay for 30% of "small" medical expenses. So if I went to the doctor, got my toe x-rayed, saw a doctor, got a bandage, I'd still have to pay probably $150--despite having health insurance.sangfroid wrote:I don't understand most of this as I'm sure most non-Americans wouldn't. It beggars belief.ignotus wrote:Well you can argue that legacy of communism is doing it's job in our (Croatian) case...heavycola wrote:COMMUNIST!ignotus wrote:So much for a health care in the most advanced and democratic nation in the world.![]()
