Do they have nights in space? It seems that in the absence of natural sunlight, human conception of night would more or less be obsolete. People could basically sleep whenever, regfardless of what everybody else was doing. Just a thought.

the show is set on earth

and they go to different planets using a device called a stargate. so of coarse they have night

as the sg command is in cheynee mountain on earth this point is a moot one but in most cases yes they do as we are not the only planet that revolves. - just some have longer days than others

Apologies for the misunderstanding, then, I never really got into this show (I was in a stargate game in mafiascum, though)
