my only concern is u use the same type of mountain for practically all your mapsoaktown wrote:alright, now that we've hit the Forge where's the last-minute problem crew? After what I've put them through, certainly Tisha and Bloknayrb owe me a few rounds of 'Nitpick The Map.'![]()
I'll be away from my home computer for the next two weeks, so pile up your concerns and I'll address them all after the new year. Happy Holidays everyone!
actually, this is the first time I've ever made a map with mountains. I copy/pasted them onto the first draft of the maya map just to get a draft out there, but have since redone it.bryguy wrote:my only concern is u use the same type of mountain for practically all your mapsof course other than that its great
Way to jinx the map!gimil wrote:i say you just get the images and XML up. I smell a quench coming.

I actually agree with you - I liked it better when it was at +4, but I was overruled.militant wrote:Your map is looking great, but i think the city bonus is a bit steep seeing as there is only 4 cities, you get a bonus of one for three cities and then it shoots up to 5. (i apologise if this has already been said)
Thanks... I like the look of the cities but I concede that with the lighter colors they do pop out a bit. I'd be open to reworking them if others agree that it's worth doing.militant wrote:I like the subtle colours of this map although the images that represent the cities just doesnt seem to fit with the style of the map. Other than that is is looking great.
If you have some alternative in mind, I'd be open to seeing it, but if not I'm pretty pleased with the current option. I honestly don't know what a good representation of a Scottish town would be.oaktown wrote:Thanks... I like the look of the cities but I concede that with the lighter colors they do pop out a bit. if we use cairnswk's bonus calculator spreadsheet, then the cities (4,4,13,5) and highlands (8,5,4,3) both come out at 5.25, suggesting that they ought to have the same bonus as each other: the fact that the cities can be attacked from 13 territories more or less balances the higher number of highlands territories. this is without taking into account the higher likelihood of the cities player being attacked because he or she is treading on so many toes.oaktown wrote:I actually agree with you - I liked it better when it was at +4, but I was overruled.militant wrote:Your map is looking great, but i think the city bonus is a bit steep seeing as there is only 4 cities, you get a bonus of one for three cities and then it shoots up to 5. I just did a bit of research on that... I hope Wikipedia has it right.Shatners Bassoon wrote:Looks like a good map,i don't know if it's been pointed out already but Kincardine is in the wrong place it should be down just east of Stirling.
