Gotta get your years right though, wicked was one of the biggest troublemakers in 2008, InsomniaRed was a massive troll in 2011.PLAYER57832 wrote:Doesn't Lack get to be in the first year there? I believe he acted as a mod initially?
Dancing mustard and the rest of the "gang of 4" have to make the trouble maker list, as do wickedm though off-hand, I cannot remember the years.. and most recently Insomniared, of course.

Thanks for the nominees for 2007 nags, I'll put em up.nagerous wrote:2007
1. Most well known mod - wicked/AK_Iceman
2. Most well known clan player - blitzaholic
3. Most well known tournament host - N/A
4. Most well known poster - fircoal/hecter
5. Most well known trouble maker - dancing mustard/norse
6. Most well known map maker - cairnswk/widowmakers

Ah.. I'll have to look more into future years, seems like lots of members have been put on the list that were not actually from 2006, but were nominated, although some were justified, but as qwert posted above, the release dates of all his maps, none from 2006... thanks for that post qwert, that will just eliminate you from winning the 2006 poll although it is already leaning towards Jota for the winDiM wrote:qwert didn't make any maps in 2007.
i think the best way to set up a poll for the map makers category is to talk to andy to give you a list of map makers and maps based on the release date.
then you could make a poll like this:
best map maker 2007:
Map maker 1 (map 1 map 2 map 3)
Map maker 2 (map 1)
etc
this way people will also know what maps were done by those map makers and vote accordingly.

DiM wrote:many people have no idea who made certain maps.
just recently i discovered somebody that liked one of my maps, played against me many times on that map and yet had no idea i actually made that map.
and it's not the first time this happened.
that's why i said you should put all the map makers of a certain year as well as their maps. andy has such a list. i know he posted it at some point but i can't find it.

I remember jork, hell of a nice guy, and well respected...codeblue1018 wrote:Gosh, reading some of this stuff posted about the old timers is great; that sure was a fun CC. One of my favorite players was Jork. I believe he was a conqueror at one point but maintained an upper 80% win rate for strictly playing team games; at that time, there was no invite option and he played with whoever joined his team; cooks, privates, didn't matter. Hell of a nice guy. Maybe Robin can provide further info about him. Not sure if he was in a clan or not.

actually that's also a form of boosting/protecting your score.Robinette wrote: But i need to add something about PRIVATE games vs PUBLIC games...
While i do realize that there were many who played private games to boost/protect their score,
i did it to raise the level of competition...
Here's my 6p std esc stats to prove what i am saying:
playing public games i have won 50% (49% overall)
private games i have won only 19% (20% overall)
Again, these are 6p std escalators.

yes playing private games only with people of the same rank or better provides a better competition but also rewards wins with more points and penalizes losses with less points.
also by playing private games only with proven players you're protected from idiots that don't know the concept of escalating and trash half your troops just to get a +2 bonus.
PS: score on CC is totally irrelevant when it comes to assessing a player's overall skill. score on CC merely shows the ability to farm a certain map or a certain setting. that's all.

but did the things he spoke of happen in 2006 or sometime afterwards?grifftron wrote:sad day... here i thought someone finally nominated someone for 2007, all we got is someone from 2006 nominating himself after 2006 nominations have been given and finished plus a bunch of people talking about strategy on CC, the never ending topic...
