Part of it are symbolic (ie. "giant locusts"... "beast with 10 horns") But the overall writing is literal.... we just have to figure out what these symbols mean.... and are doing so.
My interpretation is that almost every story is not truth as much as it a means of delivering a message. David and the goliath, in my interpretation did not happen. It is a way of saying "the little people will always win".
and also unrig what i meant was that science doesnt care about God or anything like that, save for maybe psychology.
A avowed christian physics professor has said that if it cannot be tested or reliably reproduced it is not within the realm or science. And in how i am a christian God cant be tested in any lab i have heard of and neither can he be reproduced
this isnt a bad thing. all i am saying is that science has a hands of concerning gods. Also evolution is the only beeginning theory that operates totally within science ideas, gods of any sort do not operate in science. the infininte can not be finitely defined and unless God is limited, he and sci are merely aquantiences not bedfellows.

I do not condemn anyone, "Bible thump" (wonder if you would call Jesus a Bible thumper) or any label you or anyone want to give me or anyone else here. Have I been rash at times? Most likely... I am human and error. Do I proclaim "lies" in this forum? Not to my knowledge. Do I feel its right to attack Christians to make myself look better in the eyes of God? Umm no. The same measure indeed.

If Jesus tried to force himself on anyone no matter who then i would drop him like a bad habit. but because i have a personal relationship with him i know he never would. i also know that in his time he will give me oppertunities to help other. notice i said help. i would sleep better at night knowing i had helped just one person have a better, this is open to debate(not here though), life than convert thousands to god. I can be sure that i have helped that one and i know that it was God's will, i cannot be equally as sure that even one of those thousands was sincer. Christ said to love one another, that means love everyone, u dont have to like them just do ur best and God, weither u belkive in him or not, will provide the rest

I challenged that the language is misunderstood by taking literal meaning, where there is conclusive proof of its being an analogy. I said nothing about God changing.

You can't force faith. And I am not even trying to do any such thing. It's called debate...which is why I come into threads like these. I like to debate. Not argue, not judge, not say that I'm better than anyone else and certainly not to call people Hitler.

Anyways to me what constitiutes "Religious Thumping" is where u ignore socail propriaty to, i may use this wrong, "troll" or harass anyone. The street preacher who cant take a hint, the Evolutionist who cant tell the difference between ID and Christianity, THEY ARE DIFFERENT, the suicide bombers. Basicallly anything which would be innapropriate in arguing which is better: white or wheat. is bad for any argument/debate. this is all i was saying. Now none of the cc members have crossed this line but some have come close in my OPINION. i am not saying i am right, i am only saying that it seems that both sides have been a little extreme. Faith is very odd and all faiths should be treated with repect and should be confined to what they are. Faith is NOT science. Science is NOT faith.
Finally this is my opinion and i have seen the error of my opinions many times. God is God and i thank him that i am NOT.

It holds a monopoly on what's right. The truth is, if you can see it, it's there. Your faith is based on, well, faith; the idea that what you believe is happening/has happened.
